Should I circumcize my son?

About circumcision making sex less pleasurable for the man, this is a tough subject. The head is less sensitive if it is circumsized. This can be good though. It means the guy can last longer, which is better for the girl. This can mean more sex and a better chance at a lasting relationship.

It doesn't necessarily mean the guy can last longer, it means it's just less intense.

If you want to last longer, learn to condition yourself. Don't go so fast, also. The solution isn't to cut off the nerves so it's less sensitive...

Uncircumcised men can last as long as circumcised men. It's just that one of the two groups gets more pleasure out of sex than the others. One never requires personal lubricant for themselves either. Think of the time and money saved!

From personal experience, I know uncircumcized men can last quite a long, long time.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about the issue. It's not like a kid is going to be deprived in an signifigant way if he is cut.

I really appreciate all the advice everyone has given, it's very helpful. I'm steadily being swayed towards not having it done. None of the few posters who agreed with circumcision seemed to have any reasons. And why should you do something without reason?

He's also not going to be deprived in a significant way if you cut off a random toe. Doesn't mean it should be done...

And just because it's done out of habit doesn't mean it should still be done.

Then again even if we cut a toe off of each baby, there would still be proponents claiming it prevents pain later in life because they never will stub that toe again.

Tandee, if you decide that way, though, you better be well-prepared to convince your husband. IIWY, I would have the medical statements against circumcision available when discussing it, so the rationale is clear.

DD: Circumcision is potentially dangerous and can lead to deformation and other such things. Why do it when it is unneccessary? Especially to a baby that can't make the decision itself?

You are supposed to circumsize your kid. I mean, not cutting it would be like leaving the umbilical cord! God told us to do it, and it has been proven that it is cleaner. If it lowered pleasure then my parents wouldn't have circumsized me. It would be horrible to have to be circumsized as an adult because you would remember it and the wound would take longer ot heal.

Well, I'm not quite sure if this is the case, that's why I'm asking. I think Boris has a unique perspective, and he seems to think you're wrong.

And that's not even the half of it. The other concern is the bad things that could happen if it is done, some of which we may not be fully aware of. If female mutilation was practiced by no fewer than two of the world's major religions, would it seem right and normal? ::shudders::

I'm being typically here. There are also some non-religious reasons not to masturbate so that lube is not needed. If there is another person involved, then you should never need lube if you do it right.

I don't have nearly as much experience as Boris, but I haven't seen it either.

But seriously, no, I don't think so. I think it hinders development and besides why would God make you be born with the foreskin if it wasn't natural. Its just a religious flaw.

Boris: I don't particularly care about the issue to the extent that some of the people in this thread seem to. I can only speak from my personal experience that being cut has not handicapped my life in any noticable way.
