Depends on the area of the state. Typical housing in Portland for a nice neighborhood with good schools would run you about $200,000 for a 3 bedroom two bath.
That's just a ballpark figure of course, it goes up and down depending on the specific area. My neighborhood is booming and very popular with the younger crowd, so a 2bdrm. Craftsman style bungalow can go for the high end, pushing $200,000. But if you want to live in the suburbs or can handle a 20-30 minute commute, you can get a great deal on a home.

www.oregonlive.com is a good site for general information with links to other more specific answers. Portland is a beautiful city on a river, very clean and low crime, with a small feel considering it is a major metropolitan area.

                  Supersneak-

Thanks for the info, the prices there seem pretty cheap too. I guess almost everywhere is when you come from NYC.

                    That young priest?

no, just the thought of Markos dressed up as a priest is enough

Yeah, Rowan Atkinson's portrayl of a priest...

And yes, Markos in a black robe with a white collar is funny enough .

oh yeah it was Atkinson. I remember all of it now

and Markos as an orthodox priest (with the beard the hat and everything) is even more funny

Sh*t - for less than that price I get 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, ducted heating, double garage etc. etc.

But it is a long commute to Portland
