Hang about, Hydey, we're exhuming Alan Seale to toss some curly ones at you.

Mmmmm. He might have been strictly a Sydney horticultural identity. Okay - we'll dig up that Kevin Whatever-his-name-was with the one bung eye who used to do the gardening stuff on the ABC before Cundall reared his Pom head.

Whatever, we'll keep you immersed for months and months.

            • I see. That topic obviously featured prominently on the list delivered from the comfy chair while you pretended to fold the clothes.

I'm already dreading Hydey's likely response to this.

Sneak, please, don't ask him stuff like that.

                              Yes

I always decline as I am happily married or was that they are always butt ugly and built like a brick outhouse.

                              • Dear Hydey,
Please tell me which is the more important factor in a plant’s growth period, temperature or light?

You see, if the greenhouse effect really takes its toll and the Finnish climate will be like what they now have in Central (Germany, France) or even Southern (Italy, Greece, Spain) Europe, there could be one positive aspect in it: we could grow perennials and plants that we only dream about now.

But since there will be no more light in Finland during the dark winter months, can these plants grow? During the lovely Northern summer there is lots and lots of light all day and night, but the plants cannot hoard up light, can they?
