I've never quite understood why some people take joy in shooting BB guns at cats, dogs and other pets. Or why they deliberately try to run down animals. Or barbecue them.
It makes me wonder: If they show such disregard for animals ... would you trust them with another human being in some situations? Like an infant? Or a mentally slow person?
I used to roughhouse with my pets when I was a youngster and into my early teen years. But to shoot them? Run them over? Kick/beat them? Microwave them? Barbecue them? My God. What perverse forces drive a person to do this?

Cruelty to animals, along with vandalism and lighting fires, can be an indicator for criminal psychotic behaviour against people.
Its a power trip, usually perpetrated by people with low self esteem.
