    Who are your favorite villains?

We all love to hate certain characters in fiction. I myself tend to have more affinity for a villain than the schmuck of a hero. The bad guys always have the most fun!

      My pics:

Sauron - The epitome of the unseen, overarching evil that terrorizes an entire world. His presence is all throughout the LoTR series, and Tolkien is brilliant in building a really frightening picture of a villain we never even see. Perhaps the most epic of villains.

Baron Scarpia - Opera's nastiest bad guy, with no redeeming traits except for his music. He abuses his authority as Roman police chief to get what he wants. He wants Tosca, however, and makes plans to have her boyfriend executed so that he can blackmail her into sleeping with him. He seems to be victorious...until, just before he goes to claim his prize, Tosca sticks a fruit knife in him. Slooch!

Inspector Javert - Probably doesn't deserve to be on the list, as he isn't a "villain" in the sense of being evil. He is the archetype of the obsessed lawman, and he hunts the fugitive Jean Valjean for nearly 20 years in early 19th Century France. His own lowly birth in a prison to gypsy parents makes Javert obsessed with the law and always living by the letter of it. He is merciless to those who break the law, and his presence is often frightful in Les Miserables. He is doomed, however. Valjean's own act of mercy in saving Javert's life from student rebels is what does it. Unable to accept a world in which a criminal can be noble, and unable to arrest Valjean since it would be betraying his savior, Javert ends his conflict by throwing himself from a bridge into the Seine River.

Darth Vader, a definite must and evil incarnate (Susanna Ivanova is Death incarnate, but she's not a villain and that's another story), Hal, Sauron... and of course, KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

Oh that guy was fun, though I liked Hercules more.

                And Vader takes the lead!

Or you might say he's breaking out from the pack.

or even that he's blowing the competetion away. :kill:

Boris: I really like the poll. I'm glad SOME people are getting back to being creative.

Also: What nerds we are. Top three as of now:

                      Darth Vader (6)
                      The guy from LOTR (5)
                      HAL 9000 (4)

I voted for two of them...bet you can guess which ones.

Also voted WWOTW, Hooky, Dr. Evil, Joker

I can't believe you'd leave out a villain who lives on the planet Mongo and the poly overtures are obvious.

                              Go Flash go!
