    SISKO

Sisko takes number one because DS9 was the most creative of the Star Trek series, also the most B5-like I might add.

B5 was so much better because it was more realistic and more creative at the same time. Actually, I think it was B5's realism which forced it to be more creative. In Star Trek all the races basically look the same, just with funny looking faces. B5 has different races with entirely different biological makeups. Witness the Vorlons or the Shadows, other species requireing encounter suites, and my favorites, the beings from Thirdspace . That was a cool movie with a cool premise.

In ST they all have basically the same ships, warp drive, phasers.. yada yada. In B5 they push the creative envelope, which I like.

Picard was the best captain, but DS9 was the best show.

            One word:

            Engage!

And yes, woohoo, someone else knows about Red Dwarf! Best show ever! Hilarious. Sadly, I think I've seen all of the episodes a few times too many.

Sisko and Janeway did come around when Clinton was telling us to "don't stop thinking about trommorow".

And Picard reminds me of Big Bush. They both have a simple resoluteness about them. If you think about some of Bush's statements on Iraq during the Gulf War, I could easily see Picard saying the same lines.
Archer gives speeches just like Bush, somewhat akward (from bad acting) moralizing. Then there's the suliban or whatever

Many people here know about Red Dwarf.

Ever watch the Smeg Ups (Or was it the Outs?) with Picard talking about how he was thinking of suing Grant Naylor?

                    That was hilarious.

I didn't know what smeg was the first time I saw it. I heard of smegma. Never put two and two together until reading this one story with a character that was nicknamed "Smegs" though.

I think Janeway made a decent captain once the writing got a lot better in the fourth season and she lost that horrid bun hairstyle.

And DS9 was a flagrant rip-off of B5. But also good.

Ben Sisko, while not technically a captain, wins my vote, hands down. He rocked.

Of course, I dislike all ST except DS9, so he was the only obvious choice...

                            Kirk is the man.

Picard was such a wuss he couldn't even take Soren, and ended up getting Kirk killed and his ship destroyed by a half-assed bird of prey.

Sisco was OK if somewhat preachy, Archer is so-so, Janeway was annoying.

BTW, Data also qualifies as captain, as seen in "Redemption PartII".

Same here, I´ve got all the episodes on VHS. They´re almost worn out by now. My sister likes them as well, between ourselves we must´ve seen every episode a gazillion times

Seriously, don't you think Hollister is extremely cunning? I mean, he was originally a donut boy and was able to make his way up to Captain.
