Why doesn't this suprise me considering how much you've been promoting the Xbox on the forums?

I call it as I see it.
Xbox is the superior hardware, backed by the world's largest company with the deepest pockets and most arrogance out of any other company in the world, so you can't go wrong.

And after seeing all these games that are being made for it, after seeing how they plan to implement Xbox Live, and how much the Xbox Division bends over backwards to help developers and fund new, innovative games -- I think it's the right choice.

Right now Sony and Nintendo are continually milking their franchises for all their worth. How many Pokemon games came out in the past couple years?

I've got a short attention span -- gimmie new games, damnit.

Life becomes so much easier when you break everything down, look at it logically and how it will affect you, and make a decision from there. Much better than this "faith" and "loyalty" nonsense people spew out.

I looked at the list of the upcoming games for the Xbox and the GC and found Nintendo to have the most appealing stable of games. It's as simple as that, Asher. Loyalty and faith don't enter into the equation.

Lists of upcoming games with titles and unfamiliar franchises to you...doesn't surprise me.

I mean you're seeing a list of names you haven't heard of before vs "Mario", "Zelda", "Starfox", etc. Of course you're going to find Nintendo's more appealing.

Perhaps you should read up on them. If you're still not interested in those types of games, I would put forth the suggestion that your faith/loyalty, subconscious or not, is affecting your judgement...

For example, what consoles have you owned?

A lot of the games that I'm interested in that are coming out for the Xbox are heading to the GameCube as well.

Is that because you read up on them after you found out they were heading to the Gamecube?

Suprisingly no. You're the one that told me about Jedi Knight 2. I've also recently become interested in the Rainbow 6 franchise and was looking at the Ubisoft E3 site and found out about Ghost Recon. I've also heard a rumor that Splintered Cell is headed to the GC as well.

The only game coming out for the Xbox, that I know about, that makes me extremely envious is the Crimson Skies game they are getting.

                    • So you're not a fan of the Panzer Dragoon series, ToeJam and Earl (I'm assuming you've never played these, since they were Sega games, but you missed out on some great games if true), Ninja Gaiden, Project Ego, B.C., Blinx, Psychonauts, Brute Force, Malice, Kakuto Chojin, etc?

If you haven't heard of a game or don't know exactly what it is, you should take the time to check out the preview of it at xbox.ign.com or gamespy or gamespot or something. There are some really killer games coming out. I would be incredibly surprised if Crimson Skies is the only game you're envious of...

No, I'm not. However, I will admit to drooling when I saw the Orta screenshots. There's just not enough info relesed on it to wet my interest yet though.

                        Ninja Gaiden,

I didn't even like it on the NES. Of course, I was caught up with the Double Dragon series back then. So that might explain it.

                        Project Ego, B.C.,

I got burned with Black & White. I don't think that I could bring myself to even look at another Lionhead offering.

                        Blinx,

Platformers don't interest me much. That's why I don't care about Mario Sunshine.

                        Psychonauts,

If I owned an Xbox, the game looks like it would be worth buying. I'll be content with playing Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem though.

                        Brute Force,

I'm not exactly sure what to think of this game.

                        Malice,

                        Definately not.

                        Kakuto Chojin,

Looks like a pretty fighter. Kind of like Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

Looks like an interesting stable of games. If I ever get any extra money, I might get an Xbox to go with my GC.

                        • Brute Force is the game everyone insisted was pre-rendered when the trailer was released online.

No one believed it until they could play it for themselves at E3.

It's the first game that also uses the Xbox's MCP (Media & Communications Processor) chip to do extra graphics work as well, since they weren't using the stuff for voice morphing and network code and all that...

                          • I have had PS2 for 7 months now, and have 3 games: GTA 3, FFX, and MGS2

I am perfectly happy with that, and there will probably only be two more games I buy in the next 3 months (Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Suikoden 3), unless Xenosaga or some other game I'm interested in comes out.

The X-box is pretty, but that's as far as it goes for me. None of it's games interests me. I've played most of them. I'm an rpg and strategy fan almost exclusively. I'm sure Halo and the like are good games for FPS fans, but they're not for me.

I don't give a crap about graphics. GTA2 is as good as 3, and Fallout 1 and 2 are better than most more recent rpgs.

GC: *shrugs* what can I say. I don't like Nintendo. Never have. I preferred the genesis to the SNES, PSX to N64, and now both PS2 and Xbox over GC. Nintendo will go the way of Sega soon. (other than the fact that the DreamCast was an awesome console with awesome games, and, IMO, was and is better than current consoles. While GameCube, is none of these things.)

Anyway, I'll start liking GC and Xbox more when they start releasing some games in Eastern Europe. Sony isn't that great either. I'm sick and tired of paying American merchants on ebay outrageous shipping fees to send internationally.

So if the hardware is so much better games will only get better with t ime. Ok, the quality of games in terms of storyline, etc. may not neccesarily but the graphs!!
