I don't agree with that.
I believe that if an atheist has been a good person, and if (god forbid) there is a higher power, then he/she is going to heaven.
The fact that he did not believe in the existance of God is not relevant. What matters is that he had been a good person in his life.
Similarly, if a Christian, or better, a self-proclaimed Christian a person who thinks he's a Christian, has been a bastard in his life then he is going to hell.
It does not matter that he believed in the existance of God what matters is that he was a bad person in his life.
Is this enough simplistic?
