A bit careful? To me it sounds like freakin EXTREMELY careful. There´s no problem with a bit, but too much is too much.

And what about the marrying laws? A 18-year old Dane can move to Sweden and marry a swedish 18-year old girl, but that same girl can´t move to Denmark and marry that boy.

You have a preoblem with that? I think there should be a law againt ppl marrying before the age of 30 - force the darn prudes to engage in some casual sex before that so they won't go harbouring suppressed angst about how they missed out on all the exciting opportunities of life after being married.

No, what I object to is not that a man makes a racist comment. It's that that comment is tolerated, percieved as natural. The guy should be ****ing Crucified my the press and ousted from polite society for a comment like that. In denmark, suggesting (say) that South Asians should have harsher immigration laws than Europeans can be done openly, in the press, without the press and the entire society being openly hostile to you. It's ridiculous.

Gange: The law itself might not be racist, but it is motivated entirely by racist sentiments so the point is moot.

The Danes' last colonial era involved men wearing horned helmets
I believe the notion that the Vikings wore horned helmets is a myth.

yes it's just a myth. but horned helmets are cool

but it already is harder for non-Europeans to immigrate to Denmark (as well as to the rest of the EU) than it is for say a Frenchman to move to Finland. Talking openly about that shouldn't shock anyone.

Gange: The law itself might not be racist, but it is motivated entirely by racist sentiments so the point is moot.
so racist sentiments are finally good for something then.

It IS harder getting American citizenship then it is to get a Danish citizenship, so who are you calling a racist country?
It may be difficult for Americans to accept this, but we feel a need to protect our 1000 year culture from the flood of immigrants that is crossing our borders at the moment. If you actually tryed to understand us, you would notice we dont like the fact that unless we do something, there will be more immigrants in Denmark at the end of this century then Danes!
Call us racist all you want, but if our culture surviveds I dont care.

Yes, Denmark have been a colonial power, just like any other european country and the USA and most other countries in the world at some time, but unlike the rest of world or "colonial empire" was very small. Sure we had a few islands here and there, but it is almost nothing (USA bough our caribian islands).
As to the Faroes Islands, we are not brutally opressing them! Where ever did you hear that!!!!!! Instead they are a considerable drain on our economy. And now that they are finding oil they suddenly wants independense so who is using who?

So what Snapcase is really whining about is that Denmark is one country where the PC leftist media haven't yet taken over as they have elsewhere.
