I think I should get extra points for this prediction form the 2nd round

    "Korea - Italy (Daejeon) 1-2
This is a tough one to pick. Korea have looked good and Italy have had bad luck. Unfortunately it comes down to the referees"

I got the score wrong but picked who won it -the ref

    57 21-06 08:30 England - Brazil (Shizuoka) 4-1
I'm prdicting England score first. If so, it'll be a blowout.

    58 21-06 13:30 Germany - USA (Ulsan) 1-1
    Germany havent looked good yet

    59 22-06 08:30 Spain - Korea Republic (Gwangju) 2-1
Is it just me or does nobody else remember the crap that happened at the Olympics. Korea

    60 22-06 13:30 Senegal - Turkey (Osaka) 1-1
Senagal are good, they dont need to cheat so much.

I just hope we get stronger refs for these matches.

But mine is based on logic and remembrance of better Brazilian teams than this that got blown out of the water at the WC It all depends on England scoring first.

I think it's kind of chicken to put up tied scores, and not say who will win on penalty kicks.

Taking the average (and rounding down to the closest integer) and we get my result, 2 - 2!

Brazil is much stronger offensively. They scored 5 goals last time.

                                57 21-06 08:30 England - Brazil (Shizuoka) 2-2

Going to penalties - every English player by now is probably able to kick and score ten penalties in a row blindfolded after going out in the penalty shootout in our last two WC's AND the '96 Euros... England go through...

                                58 21-06 13:30 Germany - USA (Ulsan) 3-0

Volker popped his clogs the other day, so they'll be up for this game big time - also their defence is pretty solid too...

                                59 22-06 08:30 Spain - Korea Republic (Gwangju) 3-1

I wonder just how much of an emotional toll both these team's last games took - S Korea for winning and Spain for surviving penalties. Spain finally spread their wings.

                                60 22-06 13:30 Senegal - Turkey (Osaka) 0-2

Senegal have played enough games now for other teams to have studied their playing style - Uruguay made them look distinctly average when they were made to soak up the pressure. Brazil had to pull every trick in the cheat's handbook to beat the Turks in a woefully unconvincing manner. Oh and it's an evening game, so Senegal won't have the 'heat' advantage...

Yeah - tell that to the Turks and the Belgians!

Brazil were lucky to beat the Belgians IMO after they had a perfectly good goal disallowed (Much more sporting than the whining Italians BTW!). That meant that when Brazil finally scored, Belgium had to chase the game and were caught on the counter attack. Also (worryingly) their keeper played out of his skin to stop at least 2-3 almost dead cert goals! Very out of character for a Brazilian side to have a decent goalie - hopefully the Belgian game was a freak one off occurence!

At least their defence looked reassuringly frail as usual...

So they scored five goals against Costa Rica...

99% of the planet probably couldn't point out where it was on a map - and they scored two goals against Brazil!
