So far it appears that Germany and Spain are clear favorites to go to the quarter finals. The results of the other two matches are still open.

Carolus, you can still join. Of course you have missed most of the first round matches and the predictions for group winners, top scorer and world champion. So your chances of actually winning are very small. But you can still post predictions for tomorrows matches in groups D and H and for the second round matches.

I think that our (Spain) defense will be: Hierro, Nadal, Pujol and JuanFran.

Hierro and Nadal are very very slow in theirs movements. So I think that Ireland can do us two goals.

I only except that Raul, Morientes and the genious Valeron will score three or four goals.

Hierro and Nadal have a combined age of 70-something. Keane and Duff have a combined age of 40-something.

                    You're wellcome.

Seriously, I like the way of playing that Denmark has deployed in the first round. And I don't see anything special in how England played in his group .

But, as always, I can be wrong.

Well our captain Heintze is 38 and he's holding out pretty well.

I'm not only speaking about age. A player with 38 years old can do well, in some positions of the field. But in defense I think that a player like Helguera can do much better.

Last game, Helguera plays with Nadal and do superb. A defense with Hierro (experience and height) and Helguera is more persuasive than one with Hierro and Nadal.

The problem is that Helguera is also a good middle-field... So I undestand that our coach has a problem.

But the mayority of spanish supporters are concerned with the defense of the team...

Well, he's had to foul people a couple of times because they were too quick for him. How would he do if Rommedahl was playing against him?

Yaroslav, forgive my bias: apart from David Seaman, the oldest person in our starting line-up has been Sol Campbell, 27.
