I see now why moby would say that, since he's a confirmed anti-zionist.

Of course, the man who could best recognize racism must be wrong in this case.

Zorba wanted me to point out that Kissinger is also responsible for the Cyprus tragedy or at the very least for not averting it.

He also wanted me to mention that the CIA files for the whole thing remain sealed despite the fact that the time of relessment has passed.

        Has he been banned?

Ming mentioned that if you relay messages from banned posters, you could get clobbered.

(I did this for Spinky the other day).

Why, exactly, are judges seeking to extradite Kissenger, instead of Pinochet, in connection with actions taken by Pinochet's regieme??

Because Pinochet is already in Chile and thus extraditing him would be foolish .

Of course, the man who could best recognize racism must be wrong in this case

Sorry, didn't know Martin Luther King, Jr. was God . I don't buy that for a second, that he could best recognize racism.

I was attempting to give Moby the benifit of the doubt Imran.

Sorry you have such a low opinion of the greatest civil rights leader in history.

Sorry, but that mark goes to Gandhi. The US is not the world, Chris.

And MLK has shown he's not the best judge of rascism because of his idiotic anti-Zionism is anti-semitism remark.

Kissinger had better stay a long way from East Timor also.

Where can he safely go for a vacation? Canada?

Sorry Imran, Ghandi was a nationalist, not a civil rights leader, but it's a nice try.

Interesting on how you call him "wacky" because he disagrees with your views.

MLK wasn't a saint, Chris. He was fallible. He was also political. He held off for years criticizing the Vietnam war because of his allience with the Johnson Administration. The main group, outside of Black folks themselves, that overwhelmingly supported the Civil Rights movement were the Jews. MLK would have shot himself in the foot by coming out against Israel. Which isn't to say that he only said this for political reasons. But he's wrong about other things (like the existence of a God). He can be wrong about Israel, too.

And back on thread, we want Kissinger for lots of things: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Cyprus, Chile, Angola, Mozambique, East Timor, etc. I'm opposed to the Death Penalty, but he makes me want to change my mind.

How can't a nationalist be a civil rights leader? What is civil rights? Isn't it the rights of citizenship and equality of a certain group? Doesn't Gandhi's movement fit that exactly?

Interesting on how you call him "wacky" because he disagrees with your views.

And now I get words put in my mouth.

Just because you are losing an argument is no reason to make up things that other people have said, Chris .

If saying MLK wasn't a saint bothers you, then open your eyes to the truth.

You forget the chegitz test. I disagree with him, therefore he must be wrong.

No, it doesn't, as he was interested in a free India for indains through non-violent means, at no time did the equality of all people come into play.

i wasn't aware there was an argument, Imran.
All I see here is people saying MLK made an idiotic statement and not a saint because it contrasts with their beliefs.

                                Hardly losing anything.

Doesn't bother me in the least, but it does show certain other factors in other lights, now doesn't it.
