How about doing us all a favor and giving him a perma-ban? I'm still relatively new here, but, time and time again, he ruins threads with his spam and extra-curricular bullsh*t.

        Paiktis:

What the HELL is your problem? You having a bad day at the newspaper? Another source threaten you with death or something? Jesus H. Christ. If you're in such a testy mood, don't come to 'Poly and make everyone else miserable, OK?

Go sit in the damned shade, have a nice cool drink and frickin' relax.

Back to the actual topic of the thread...

How credible do you all think this story is? If it's true, and I tend to think it is, it does go a long way toward explaning Tony Blair's total committment to the WoT, despite taking all sorts of crap for it.

            Arrian:

Well, it makes perfect sense to me. If you're al-Qaida, it would be icing on the cake, so to speak, immediately following the terrorist strikes in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. And that "lose and learn" attitude isn't surprising, either. It's a good attitude employed by a bunch of people who, if they do learn, will become even more deadlier than they currently are.

OK, now that's strange. There was just a quote up here in a post by Ming that altered Paiktis' ban from one week to three days. Except now that post by Ming is gone and it looks like I'm talking to the wind.

                **sigh**

Anyway, if the report is accurate perhaps Al-quida decided to attack British targets a little later in the day than the US attack just to ensure that attacks in the UK didn't tip off American authorities.

You know, about Turkey not being very democratic, didn't Turkey elect an Islamic fundamentalist government a few years ago? How comfy would that make Greece?

Surely there are enough flights out of Heathrow to be able to synchronize completely? We are talking about a group that managed to grab four American planes more or less simultaneously, after all.

No reason to tip anybody off. Just do it all at the same time. Simple really.

But perhaps the London Comrades simply chickened out? Standing there, ticket in hand, they simply realized they really weren't that anxious to meet with Allah just yet.

They just knew that God is an Englishman.

And did those feet in ancient time
                                Walk upon England's mountains green
And was the holy lamb of God
                                On England's pleasant pastures seen

                                And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills
                                And was Jerusalem builded there

Bring me my chariot of fire
