    Way to go, Danes!
Where did you look? It's on the front page of http://news.bbc.co.uk and every soccer site I have looked at.

of course, England Vs Senegal/Denmark would not generate much Jingoism here .. thankfully ..
Are you kidding? There will be more people in the U.S. cheering for Mexico than the U.S.

Forget CNN. When France lost to Senegal, the reports on BBC World were delivered in a tone of barely-restrained glee and derision. I can't wait to see the news tonight!

does anyone remember who said that athletic games are a simulation of polemic (war) events between nations?

(apart from the ancient greeks and the olympics, where the idea was born of course)

i think it was maybe an american nobel prize winner of literature ... cant recall his name now grrrr

he said: i had the idea that they were simulation, now i'm certain of it

now, only if germany, argentina, italia and portugal
would lose their games, it would be perfect.

It seems that France built there whole team around Zidane. His injury meant France were all out of ideas and had no one to create chances for the forwards. That said, well done to Denmark and Senegal and to France.......GOOD RIDDANCE
