  • Bush Says Yes To Global Warming

    Ignoring a Growing Peril

    June 6, 2002
    By BOB HERBERT

The Bush administration has acknowledged that the U.S. will
experience far-reaching and, in some cases, devastating
environmental consequences as a result of global warming.
But it does not plan to do much about it.

Bob Herbert Op-Ed column says Bush administration does not expect to do much about global warming even though its own interagency report compiled by Environmental Protection Agency states that United States will experience far-reaching, even devastating environmental consequences as result of global warming; says US is by far biggest offender on planet in spewing out so-called greenhouse gases; says something could be done about problem, but because of lack of presidential leadership, little is being done (M)

Global warming is bad for Canada too. Say bye to all the cold water fishes and all those cold weather forests for starters.

When it no longer snows in the Alps then will the German have to weep bitter tears to fill the rivers that provide there water.

                      **NEWS FLASH**

Today raging hordes of BC'ers massed attacks against Alberta, sending thousands fleeing from their homes. The RCMP is unavailable, busily trying to keep angry eskimos at bay, who have suffered a serious loss of their food sources.

Something had happened a couple weeks ago that made me thinK: perhaps the damage is already done, and is now- without substantial initiative on our part- starting to become manifest in our weather.

Like a viral infection. The infection has already taken place by the time the symptoms surface.

I wish I could remember what it was that made me think this- it was a good analogy.
