Thanks, Tia...my Dad was on Death's door when I did it, and I swear it contributed to him pulling through.
The nice side effect is that it also gives you something to do that doesn't entail going out of your tree with worry.
Try the Tao of Pooh or something in that vein as well...but if you already have the right book...stick with it.

This thread is actually one of the very few I'm continuously following, hoping that Tia comes up with some good news. Maybe it's just because I'll be a parent soon and start feeling more with people whose children are sick. Whatever it is, I'm really thinking about you and your daughter.

I'm sorry there hasn't been an update but I haven't left the hospital in the last two days. If I do she gets more upset and aggitated. We are on day 6. The one good thing is that the fever seems to be going down. They keep replacing her potassium and yesterday started her on magniesium (sp?) to tired to try to figure out spellings. Had about 17 hours of sleep in the last 6 days.

Dr. Stranglove ~ it started last Sunday with complaints of a sore throat. We took her to the doctor on Monday he said it was strep and gave her amoxicillin. The next two days she complained that her back hurt along with her throat and that her legs hurt so bad that it hurt to walk. By Wednesday morning she was begging Self to take her to the emergency room while I was at work and you know the rest from there.

It makes it very hard as a parent to sit back and watch and to feel so helpless. Again thanks Sneak, the book reading seems to be the only thing that takes her mind off the pain momentarily. It makes for a nice diverson.

Hopefully we should get some test results back today and hopefully I will be able to report good news.

This is both the best and worst thread I've ever read here. The problem itself is deeply upsetting, but the way everybody has rallied in support is just beautiful

Thanks. I'm at work for a while today. Selfbiased is doing hospital duty until I can get there this afternoon. It helps to have this place to come to. I am acutally going to get on my aol and leave that up for a while so if anyone wants to talk.......I'll be here for a while.
