    Richelieu: That was insensitive

Sucks... I think I know how she feels, I watched my cat die just a month ago after she succeeded to irritate me every single day for fourteen years. She made me laugh every day too. Still miss her...
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
      Once again...

        Already has happened.
And i do have compassion. But some of the posts here for a guy whose G/F 's cat died... it's ridiculous.
I did not love that cat.
I don't think any of the posters here loved that cat.
        What?

They are showing their compassion. Would you say the same thing if someone posted that their father died?

            It would be their father.

Not a cat that their g/f has had for a week.
            What?

But you wouldn't have loved that father. No poster here would have loved that father.

You should fly down and surprise her, gives you an excuse to go, eh?

But they would know that it is their father that this person is talking about. Not a cat that their g/f has had for a week.
I happen to think that the emotional attachment for your father is (should be) at least a little bit more than that which you would have for your girlfriend's cat.
Which she's had for a week.

And i would act accordingly : i would show sympathy even though i don't love their father, because in my view, their attachment to their father and the loss that they feel is worth showing that support.
                      What?

Well, she is coming up for Memorial Day, so that is the next time I'll see her.

Poor Klausy... hopefully he's in kitty heaven by now.

Sorry to hear that man, seriously.
