hi ,
please be more specific , and say as to whom you are refering .
I don't think Egypt is asking for a bribe. I think they are setting what they think is an unrealisitically high number to dramatize their point that war is not on their agenda.
BTW, Egypt has been armed and trained by the US for almost 20 years. They could probably fight the Israelis to a standstill. If you toss in the Saudis and the Jordanians, well, Israel would probably dust off the weapons everyone knows they have but pretends they don't have.
Eli, losing the Aswan Dam would be a good thing for Egypt. It's killing the Nile, which is the life blood of Egypt. They don't even get all that much electricity from it, because the resevior behind the damn has silted up
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
They want Bush to pay them and than kick their ass for 100 b$ i'd do it as well
Perhaps Bill Gates could bargain with them and get the price down a bit

At least we hope so....I wonder what Sharon and Arafat's favourite computer game is?
Hmmm....how would you show the situation in Israel in Civ 2?
Barbarian fanatics in arms near Jenin!!
And a few barbarian spies 'poisoning wells' (closest equivalent to suicide attacks on civilians)
Oh, and a few barbarian artillery units ocassionally mindlessly unsuccessfully attacking a stack of fortified vet mechanized inf and tanks in a fortress square on a hill in the north...the artillery units would use the 'katyusha' graphic from the Red Front...
Maybe the barbarian spies should belong to the Iranian or Iraqi civilization? Do you think that would simulate it better?
"Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"

That's true. Even worse are the damns Sudan has been building which have submerged valuable archeological sites. Many believe that Khartoum has ideological/theological reasons for wanting to destroy this history. Given the National Islamic Front government's penchant for genocide, I don't doubt it.
Nevertheless, Egypt prizes the Aswan as though it is the life-blood of the nation. The military destruction of the Aswan would be regarded by Cairo as on par with a nuclear attack.
The result would be, at least, Scud missles with chemical/biological warheads raining down on Israeli cities.
