I too very rarely get angry... being drunk helps that one but I'm almost never violent unless it's necessary. Anyway, some people are just afraid of more things or react worse... I remember reading about some study showing how different people react in different ways to stress etc.

I relax under stress or violent situations. I get very calm indeed. When I worry is when there's no immediate pressure but I can't immediately solve the problem.

I was diagnosed with manic-depression (bipolar disorder) about eight years ago; at that time my "natural" emotions were destructive. During the manic part of the cycle I wouldn't be able to sleep, and during the depressive part I'd be absolutely miserable and would just want to sleep all of the time. Meds fixed me up, but they weren't a very good long-term solution; vastly increased levels of stress would throw my brain even more out of kilter, to the point that the meds would simply stop functioning, and I'd be right back to where I started.

BINGO!! We have a winner! My oldest daughter is bipolar/manic depressive and what you described is what she lives through everyday. Currently we are in the sleep cycle. She will sleep for 16 to 18 hours a day. Same thing. Meds work for a while but then everything will suddenly seem off. We can usualy tell when that is happening she has this thing she does with her hands she'll start to shake them and that's my cue to know somethings up.

I never said anything about aura's. Some people believe in that. As I said before I just think it takes more energy to exhibit negative behavior then it does to be kind and usually with a worse outcome. History has shown us that things go in cycles. What goes around comes around. If that theory is true, then I'd rather give out kindness so I can be on the receiving end of kindness then rudeness. That's just my own persoanl choice, everyone is different each person has to find what works for them.

                2) How you perceive what a person does affects how you will feel or react. So a better, more self-empowering response would be this: "I feel very slighted when our telephone calls are cut off abruptly."

This lets the person know that he or she is not treating you with respect over the telephone, and using the "I" language shows that you, and only you, own your feelings.

It's the situation that's triggering your subconscious mind to bring on the emotional response, not you (entirely). So your conscious mind can't be entirely blamed for it, which is why you can say:

                  And be completely correct.
Not really. To be completely correct you would say "My interpretation of your behaviour is making me angry".

I disagree totally with Cali though. If people can control their emotions (their moods, their thoughts), how come we see thought and mood disorders?

                    (ie, schizophrenia and depression respectively).
People can control their emotions, but it is difficult at the best of times. If you have a disorder its even harder.
