  • Terror act or not?

There was an explosion at a synagogue in Tunesia with several deaths, including - until now - eight German tourists. Israeli government sources said from the beginning on it was a terror act, now the Tunesian as well as the German gouvernment seem to believe the same.

Question to the Israelis: Why Tunesia? What is known about the links between Palestinian terrorists and North African Islamists?

    Why Tunesia?

Yet another Muslim dictatorship that brainwashs it's residents(though much less than the PA).
Eventually few wackos decided to kill Jews.

Well, they've got lots of things in common.

They hate us. as in Israel , and to a lesser extent , "the west".
They're also ruthless animals. I saw a tape of them attacking an army convoy. Barbarians would be offended if I'd call them that way.

I'm sorry, really annoying, it's Tunisia.

And I'm sorry to disappoint you Dalgetti, but some of us think that your country is barbaric.

I think the question was, why that country when there are stronger enemies?

Actually, I think it is strange why that happened in Tunisia. The leader (how you call that?) of the synagogue said they have normally good relations to the Tunisian people...I thought, compared to Algeria the country has not as big problems with Islamists - seems I was wrong...

Well BeBro , just goes to show you again that this has little to do with "bad conditions" or "evil zionist" opressors, IMO. the only deal is that there is a lot of us around here , hence more attacks.

PLO and some other radical islamic organizations have historically had ties to Tunisia, although without "official" government "support." (read between the lines)

no , you're correct. They went there on a big boat , sailing from Beiruit , courtesy of the Israeli government.

IIRC, after Lebanon got a bit too hot for them, yes. - that was in '83.

The Israelis hit PLO HQ there in '85

Abu Jihad got popped there in '88

Also, a few of the Black September members who quietly faded into the background after they got things too hot for Arafat and the PLO were in Tunisia when the Mossad caught up to them.

So there's been a bit of special love and affection there between the Israelis and Palestinians.
