Congress spends quarter million to combat Goth culture in Missouri
That's right, ruin the joke, right, ruin the joke, right, right.
"Spirit merges with matter to sanctify the universe. Matter transcends to return to spirit. The interchangeability of matter and spirit means the starlit magic of the outermost life of our universe becomes the soul-light magic of the innermost life of our self." - Dennis Kucinich, candidate for the U. S. presidency
"That’s the future of the Democratic Party: providing Republicans with a number of cute (but not that bright) comfort women." - Adam Yoshida, Canada's gift to the world
I would think the Goths would rape the horses and make the women watch?
And I like Marylin Manson too .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
Turn your backs on the Goths for one moment, and the next thing you know, they'll be sacking Rome!
BTW, Maralyn Manson makes damn fine music.
Crazy Republicans.
"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

i'm goth.
you all know me.
my favorite musician is marilyn manson.
i'm already persecuted
and i go to private baptist university although i'm atheist.
in addition, no one has been able to clearly define goth either. is it dress? is it dress plus a belief? does it include wiccans? and what if the wiccans wear "normal" clothes? HOw do we separate it from punk? does it mean anyone who dies their hair black? but what about asians with naturally black hair?
there is no clear cut definition of goth.
i'm assuming there will be a judicial review of this law soon, as it violates scores of amendments.
and then:
would you persecute me???
"Speaking on the subject of conformity: This rotting concept of the unfathomable nostril mystifies the fuming crotch of my being!!! Stop with the mooing you damned chihuahua!!! Ganglia!! Rats eat babies!" ~ happy noodle boy
Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy? "I don't believe in giving scripting languages because the only additional power they give users is the power to create bugs." - Mike Breitkreutz, Firaxis
I'm not goth, I've never quite gotten into it.
I'm a metallist, though, and goth culture is somewhat close to my heart. This is why I get so mad every time I hear something like this. We all know how metal bands (and metal / goth / other subcultures) are constantly blamed for being evil, satanic, etc...
In Finland we have only one festival totally dedicated to metal music - Tuska ('Pain'). Of course, some religious (and other...) loonies are all the time preaching about it being evil - last year there were some people with banderolls saying "Satan has come to Helsinki!" outside the festival area... and there was one "document" (well, wasn't very documentary, some marginal media bullsh!t) labeling it as the "festival of blood, violence and evil".
In reality, Tuska has been arranged 4 times so far (5th this summer), and yet (to my knowledge) not a single crime of violence, crime against property or drug offense has been reported. And every year we've received praise from the local police for peaceful festivals. This is extraordinary. Well, I saw one act of violence there last year; Some loonie (one of the banderoll-people) threw a bucket of water on a metalhead who just happened to pass by. So much for the christian tolerance...
