Why would you ever accept a position as Apolyton moderator?

I know. Its completely utterly nuts.

Options are Michael stays in. As I would like to be able to go out and act like normal people are tied up with him hanging out online checking on you kids, I'd rather keep you on an even shorter leash and instill the fear of the creator...errr moderator into your young minds.

Maybe then I'll get a RL.
          howsa that?

It's impossible to instill fear over someone with dozens of proxied DLs.

              Possible.
A big waste of Moderator time so the more time it consumes
the lesser of a posting face we'd want to see.

Proxies are chaseable if you whine loud enough.
Being tossed by your ISP isn't fun. I mean, you can be an ass and
proxy yourself all over the planet but if you're posting in a semi
serious manner and want to keep your section of the planet available
to internet traffic, you kids should behave.

                  Let's be serious here.
ISPs will not toss paying customers due to complaints about their behavior on websites providing it's not breaking any laws or the terms of service.

LTEC, why don't you and Mike and Ming just give it a rest and let MarkG do the modding. It's more fun to be part of the riff-raff anyway. Plus that way things can get more pleasantly out of hand...

do you have the time to do this??

why do you have to be a 'harsh' mod, why can't you be 'easy'

                      what are your interests??

                      and so forth

Hmm, i looked with a sceptical eye when i first saw the "announcement", and remembering last april fools, wasn't sure what to think.

But LTEC! has been doing the job, at least tonight, and even has a snappy thread closing line "Oh, behave!" I like it.

I want a snappy thread closing line

                          'Just Close it"

                          or 'Shut Up'

                          or 'Just Stop It, OK'

hmm, sounds like it deserves a thread topic

A term of service you agree on when you log into this forum is that you'll keep only one identity. Main reason being that this forum has a large subscriber list, so you being a bright young man can identify that there are a lot of processes involved in registering a user. If a user keeps a large number of logins server space reduces and therefore server speed decreases which will increase user whines about lack of good service.

So in order to continue to give users good service, it is appropriate to conform to the site "rule". And hell yes it is enforceable!
To add to the insult, DL's are normally spammers so they will get treated with swift justice and be refused "service" just like when you don't wear shoes at restaurants.

I've never been riff-raff. Maybe you can explain how fun it is to you.

I think he's referring to the ISP's terms of service.
