Yeah, I agree that we've missed some great classics, two obvious ones not mentioned yet are North by Northwest and Psycho. Or how about Shane. Or the original All Quiet on the Western Front. Then there are the Bogart films: The Maltese Falcon and The Caine Mutiny. And how can we forget the early 70s film Young Frankstein and Blazing Saddles, and Mel's first Oscar, The Producers (Spingtime for Hitler and Germany, Winter for Poland and France).
Come on folks, lets name some great films that have not been mentioned yet.

I considered all three of those Mel Brooks films, but I just couldn't bump off my #1 comedy, Life of Brian. But The Producers sure made it close.

Wait a minute! We can assign points? In that case, DM, I'd like to change my vote to:
Casablanca - 3 points
Brazil - 3 points
Goodfellas - 2 points
Annie Hall - 2 points
If that's more trouble than it's worth, DM, then ignore this.

A snapshot of Apolyton tastes:
SciFi - "Matrix" and "Aliens" are better that "Brazil" and "Blade Runner"
War - "Braveheart" is better than "Apocalypse Now"
Crime - "Pulp Fiction" and "The Usual Suspects" are better than "The Godfather" and "Goodfellas"
To quote alternative-universe Maggie from the Simpson's: "This is indeed a disturbing reality."

as long as you don't yell at me. i just tally stuff.

DM, you should edit the original post with the updates

I agree it was a great movie, but BEST EVER? C'mon guys... that kind of honor is more suited for the film two places lower
