    Life of Brian
The Matrix (I think it is great now, but in 10 years, I don't know)

    The Usual Suspects
    Metropolis
Happiness (Sick, but man is it ever funny).

            Brazil was incredibly trippy.

It's like a movie version of 1984... on acid.

I just saw it on TV the other day. Pretty good. It's got Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in it.

A lot of good movies have been mentioned already. I'll just add these two:

                Memento
                Princess Mononoke
                The Godfather

I noticed also that somewhat understandably the lists so far are pretty modern... then again, so was mine, so I decided to add The Godfather which I'm frankly surprised to see it not already mentioned. There are probably some other good old movies I'm missing as well.
                All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.

there are no restraints on the movies you can nominate although the ones with the most nominations will be put on the ballot....
so like..my ghostbusters 2 nomination....no one else is gonna vote for that ...so i bet it won't make the cut.
i figure that we may have to have some wild card voting too to see which of the nominations with ties on the borderline make it in.

Does no one else love the classics? I threw on one recent film for good measure, but in general I think the last two decades of moviemaking have been truly lame compared with the past. None of these are likely to make the final cut, but I can't resist. Alphabetically:

                    Annie Hall
                    Brazil
                    Bringing Up Baby
                    Casablanca
                    Chinatown
                    Citizen Kane
                    8-1/2
                    GoodFellas
                    Nashville
                    O Brother Where Art Thou
"I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

The true way of sword fencing is the craft of defeating the enemy in a fight, and nothing other than this.
