  • Australian Special Forces save 36 Americans

That's what's being reported here. Apparently when the chopper went down last week where you lost 6, 36 were saved by air strikes called in by the Australian SAS to keep the enemy at bay until a rescue mission could be mounted.

No need to thank us Wiglaf

Thanks for the help (in all sincerity). Wouldn't it be ironic if one of those Aussie airstrikes took out Bin Laden sometime before the 1st of April?

Yes, the Aussies did rescue. And thanks.
You should turn loose giant herds of kangaroos in Afghanistan.
From what I've seen, those things with their hind leg kicks could be awesome.

                  They really do.
They'll grab the shoulders, and jump up while kicking out with their hind legs.

Is there a link to the story? I hadn't heard that before now.

Australian troops have played a pivotal role in saving the lives of 25 US soldiers stranded after a helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan earlier this week.

                          blah blah blah

Brigadier Duncan Lewis says Australian troops exchanged fire with Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters, while aiding stranded US soldiers after a helicopter crash.

Six Americans were killed in the crash.
They aided some stranded soldiers after a helicopter crash. That's remarkable. Care to explain exactly how our guys were "aided", anyone? And the casualty figures on the Aussie side during this heroic little effort while under such "terrible enemy fire"? Yawwwwn...

Edit: Notice also that the picture on the ABC site is one of American troops. I've yet to see one picture of British/Canadian/Australian guys in action like that.

Edit 2: I want a FOX link too, for obvious reasons...Now.

They went and retrieved downed service personnel.
                            That's "aided".

My God, friend. You're quite hopeless if you honestly meant that. I'm not even going to bother. Not one bit. "Aussie airstrikes"... You obviously are also in complete denial that the man's already dead thanks to Mr. Bush, but what the hell. Only young once I guess.
