Well, granted, neither the band name nor the song title is very Spanish-sounding, but I didn't listen to the song all that long. And rap isn't exactly the clearest medium for lyrics.

Hindi rap can seem Spanish to me.

And yeah, I'd like that MASH song, C0ckney.

Not bad. Clapton rarely does anything exceptional outside of Cream and some of his blues, so I wasn't expecting much.

Very nice! The best of the batch. Excellent guitar work, somewhat better than I expected than from him. Definitely a keeper.
Muddy Waters was, and is, a guiding force.
Try some of the other Blues artists I referenced.

now for the most important reviewer of all... Me!

we'll date back to the blues. I'm just now getting around to listening to my recently downloaded songs. And then I have to import them into windows media player...

P.S. if you send me samples songs and/or remixes they better be damned good . There are so many substandard remixes out there. I generally prefer the original. I'm old fashioned that way...

not too many people got my stevie ray vaughn song. There weren't very many people in the group back then. They are good for blues rock, worth a listen if you are interested.

scale 4 's being the best. 4 's being the worst . there is no 0. It is either good or bad on varying scales.

muddy waters- not bad. nice and bluesy, what I was looking for. 2

Vue?- I'm guessing someone sent this one. Never heard of them. They aren't bad, but not really my cup of tea.

Robin Trower: nice guitar intro. lryics and singing aren't my thing. But guitar work is decent.

eric clapton: I wanna little girl. Not sure I like the paedophile song title . I like the piano, but a little too slow for my tastes.

george thorogood: really southern rock, but like most rock musicians they have blues influence. You could say it is blues rock. Aside from a few songs, I'm not a big thorogood fan. 2

the white stripes: I'm guessing I got this from the group. not blues at all, but I like some of the guitar work. but the song structure isn't really my thing. leaning towards a

blur?: hardly blues . I like some of the guitar work though. A bit longish. But some of the sounds are really cool. 2

Joe Satrioni: I was already a fan, but not that familiar with his work. It has blues in the title, so it must be blues . but this song just doesn't sit right with me. I'll stick to surfing with the alien.

loco? I see 2 different names: either way it sucks 3

live: was that sent to me? not sure what the hell that is :0. 2

rob zombie: I'm sure someone sent this to me. I like a few of his songs, but really I only enjoyed the stuff on la sexorcisto- devil music vol. 1.

union undergound: decent, not a big fan of the singing.

bloodhound gang. I like mope and pi, but not this. 3

lil louis? don't know what the hell this crap is. 4

paul van dyk? more techno crap (although I do like some). 4

            Dirtbombs- they aren't too bad...

aftershock- the intro isn't promising . but I gave it a chance and it still sucked. 4

baby d- another sorry intro. I'll give it a little time to prove it sucks. 4

808 state? Is this the same music? hell if I know 4

carte blanche- not as bad as the previous, but still not good. 3

alton ellis: not sure what to think of this. It is different at least.

sisters of mercy: it doesn't suck too bad. too bad there isn't any real singing:

P.S. I guess I had too many images in that post. 4 's is bad. you get the picture.

              bob sinclar: ..... 4

              utah saints: ..... 4

bad religion: almost decent, but it is missing something.

peter gabriel: I like his singing, but not this song. 2

peter gabriel: same as above 2

key starr: what old fogey sent this . the singing is decent.

sounds of the 80's: Pointer sisters?: this song is ok. oh the memories. still not a great song.

The Platters: now a classic oldies song. 2 This was in that movie so I married an axe murderer I believe. funny bit

              twarres: hmm, errr no. 4

german military marches: yeah nice title. makes me want to kill people...who made this song. 4

              luke slater: no 4

              Katastroof- hey good title.

              jakatta: no- 4

grease: holy cow. was this from the movie. shocking admission I have never seen it. In any case it isn't my cup of tea 2

              jeejay otzi- yuck 4

madonna- one of her less terrible one's. I hate to admit I kind of like this song. san pedro- he's so dreamy .

              soulwax- It's almost good...

              manfred mann- err no. 2

manu chao- a language I can kind of understand. that doesn't make it good. 3

              k3: hell no 4

queen: now we're talking music here. Not one of my most favourtie queen songs. 3

david bowie: I like some of his stuff. not this 2

gig dagostino: like I want to spell it. no. 4 . send my more of this and I'll send rednex in return

pink floyd: this guy sucks. just kidding. I'm just getting used to hating everything. 4

taco: another cheesy 80's song I like. 3

greace: kill me for having any like for this song.

P.S. I guess I had too many images in that post. 4 's is bad. you get the picture.

Another theme switch, another set of reviews from me.

The major problem with this one is the fact that "Classics" are hellishly difficult to measure objectively. Not only does each song have it's already pre-determined connotations for you, but all the normal objective criteria are thrown out the window. Do you remember the tune becuase it's memorable, or because you've heard it hundreds of times? Does the production sound bland and unoriginal because it has been copied a million times or is it in fact (shock horror!) bland and unoriginal?

Shamil, whoever you are, when were you born? In the thirties or last year? Oh well, I'll include your entries too.

Am Adolf Hitler Platz: Nazi Showtunes. Kitch!

Metallica - Fade to Black: I don't mind this at all. ****e lyrics, but that's metallica for you. The lead singer whatever his name is can actually sing when he doesn't over strain his voice like he usually does. Nice riff.

Michael Jackson - Thriller: I can reveal that this isn't really one of my fav Jacko tunes, but it's not bad. Some nice touches (like the stereo percussion).

Blondie - Rapture: Blondie has done much better stuff than this. Still, it is Blondie and Blondie is Blondie, ifyouknowwhatimean.

Metallica - The Call of Ktulu: I don't like Lovecraft, but at least I can spell Chtulu properly. Clods. Slow start, turns into predictable Metallica Metal after a while. At least no vocals, mercifully.

The Platters - Only You: The eternal curse of Karaoke singers everywhere. That last note is hell to hit... An old doo-wop favourite, though.

Survivor - Eye of the Tiger: *sigh* I can't judge the familiar. Really I can't. The lyrics are so cheesy I'll give it though.

Cheech and Chong - Earache My Eye: I never got stoner humour.

Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal: I've said before that I like this version. But only because of the falsetto bits.

Summer Nights out of Grease: Sorry, I used to like it, but now it's too deep in Cheese territory. It's a curse, I tell you.

Led Zep - No Quarter: Gawd. If you want to be inspired by the middle east at least have the decency to let it be something interestin. Borders on Muzak.

PF - ABITW: The epitome of predictable pretension. Weakest Link!

Taco - Puttin' on the Ritz: Fun cover!

Queen and Bowie - Under Preasure: Ice Ice Baby!

K3 - Heya Mama: Sounds like the sort of thing soppy dutch people imagine tribespeople sing. Awful.

Manfred Mann - The Mighty Quinn: Another record I used to like. Now, Indifferent.

Madonna - La Isla Bonita: It's "Mi Chico Latino" all over again!

Manu Chao - Me Gustas Tu: Catchy world pop. But then I knew that.

Jakatta - American Dream: I can live with it.

DJ Ötzi - Hey Baby: Eurocheese! Kill Kill Kill!

Grease Megamix: ****ed up Grease. Hooray.

Soulwax - Conversation Intercom: Are these the same people who do Radio Soulwax? Coz that **** is great. This is okay Indie-pop.

Katastroof - A La Vagina: They can barely contain themselves with laughter, convinced of their own comedic geniouses. They are probably drunk. Yep, it's another "Seemed Like a Good Idea At The Time" song.

Phil Collins - Sussido: Eighties pop is ****e.

Twarres - Wa Se Zeg Nou: Doesn't say much to me. Could be worse.

Pointer Sisters - Slow Hand: Boring.

Kay Starr - The Rock 'n' Roll Waltz: IIIIII Saw Mommy kissing Saaaanta Claaaauuus...

Peter Gabriel - I Have the Touch: No you don't, Gabe. You really don't.
Världsstad - Dom lokala genrenas vän
                      Mick102, 102,3 Umeå, Måndagar 20-21

                        Oh well here goes.

kay starr - the rock and roll waltz: There is nothing like good 50s music, and this is nothing like good 50s music

twarres - Wer bisto: While I shudder to think of how they got the guy in this record to hit that note, I quite liked this record.

soulwax - conversation intercom: I think Soulwax are a bit too full of themselves, but this record isn't that bad

Jakatta - American Dream: I like this, works well for dance and chilout

Katastroof - A La Vagina: wtf

grease - megamix: Yeah ta :/

dj ötzi - hey baby (uhh, ahh): (lo delete button)

madonna - la isla bonita: 80s pop at its least interesting

manfred mann - the mighty quinn: Already had this, classic stuff

k3 - heyah mama: Soppy dutch people are cool

queen - under pressure: Not one of Queen's best songs by any strecth of the imagination, but its still pretty good

taco - puttin' on the ritz: Christ knows why, but I really like this

greace - John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John Summer Nights: Yeah ta again :/

cheech and chong - earache my eye: 'Less great effort' sums this up pretty well

led zeppelin - no quarter: *yawn* etc.

pink floyd - another brick in the wall: Never liked Pink Floyd, pretenious overlong ****e

the platters - only you: Only yoooooou, great stuff

survivor - eye of the tiger: Apart from a sudden urge to eat cereal this didn't really do much for me

metallica - the call of ktulu: metallica crap etc. :

deborah harry & blondie - Rapture (Original Radio Version): Is it sooo wrong to have their greatest hits album

alien ant farm - smooth criminal: Either Shamil is a very intelligent 1 year old, or he didn't read the theme, good stuff either way

metallica - fade to black: metallica crap etc.

michael jackson - thriller: I really don't have much of an opinion about this

mostly jazz revies and leftover when you were born one's

I'm ready for some more reviews. I think I left off at metal-lica

metal-lica/call of the ktulu- I would like to think they intentially spelled it wrong. but they weren't the brightest bunch in the world back then. I was already a metallica fan. not my fav instrumental (that would be orion and to live is to die), but a decent song.

deborah harry & blondie- rapture: I already have this song and it is called man from mars. I like blondie. Not one of my favourite blondie songs, but there is something about this cheesy song I like.

alien ant farm: smooth criminal: I already have this song as well. good song. I'm looking for a good live version though. I heard them do it live on some talk show (I think tonigh show), they sounded real good.

Michael Jackson/Thriller: the video was damn good. The song was decent, but not as good as beat it with its double meaning . The bass line is decent.

Metallica/Fade to Black: I was already a metallica fan. I own every cd so I don't have any mp3's. One of my least favourite songs from the album. Although I do love the music, the lyrics are too depressive for my tastes.

cowboy bebop/tank: Not bad, I kind of like this music. And I was hoping to get some music like this I have never heard of, but is decent. Still not music I prefer to listen to (you won't hear me blasting in my amplified car stereo ), but decent to hear in the background. Very nice.

phil collins/sussudio: I have been a phil collins fan for a while. But I don't like all his soft, too poppy stuff. And he has a few of those I don't like. This song is a bit poppy for my tastes, but still halfway decent.

billie holiday/ as time goes by: a bit too quiet and slow for my tastes. Not too bad though.

john coltrane/ stellar regions: not bad, nice and jazzy. not much on percussion though .

louis armstrong: moon river: I like this guy's voice, but I'm not a fan of this song.

ornette coleman/ science fiction: nice chaotic beginning. I likey. jazz must have been cool in its heyday. too bad heavy metal doesn't use wind instruments . although this song doesn't really go anywhere. Hmmm. not sure what to think. and that slow talking bothers me for some reason.

herbie hancock/one night in bangkok: I'm confused. I didn't think these guys did one night in bangkok pop song. I just looked it up and that is listed as murray head. I don't understand why that song is in this one. But I love the intro, even better than the song.

Frank Zappa/Blessed Relief: I probably should like this song more, but I don't. maybe its too slow and subdued for my tastes. although I do like slower songs.

Pocci Maurizio/funky: yeah that's a funky ass bass line for sure. I like it. This is a keeper.

chemical brothers/my elastic eye: I know these guys had one song I liked. This song isn't half bad.

and that is all I have recieved.

OK I'm trying to organize my music now. I have files in my music directory, winamp, and media player. I'm trying to make sure they all have the same songs . no easy task.

I guess somebody just sent Incubus. I don't like it

just getting my library up to date. I think I left off at this breakmaus song

                                BreakMaus- not really my thing.

royal crown revue (barflies at the beach)- This song sounds familiar. It's alright I guess. Too modern for me .

Future3- Too slow for my tastes.

Squirrel Nut Zippers-la grippe- Hmm I like some of their stuff. This seems too slow for me.

royal crown revue-hey pachuco-nice and upbeat I like that.

squirrel Nut Zippers-Lugubrious Whing- I can't help it, I'm a guitar freak. The guitars sound nice in this song, with a decent wind section in the second half.

royal crown revue-hot rod- Faster beat than the others. More upbeat. I like it.

Basily-Black Eyes- no percussion, but fast guitars and a violin?- sounds like it.

Sun Ra-Call for all Demons- sounds like a song I should like, but I don't.

Monster Magnet- they had the one song I liked- this isn't it .

I have a few more to do. more on that later
