  • 9/11 Insignificant?

In the grand scheme of things the attacks on the wtc are insignificant in terms of loss of life. Big deal under 5000 people died there, more then that probably died in the first day of bombing in afganistan. As for the claim that the attack cost over 100 billion? Thats just a load of BS, the airlines etc where all doing horrible before 9/11 with a few of the major ones already having declared bankruptcy. Most industries where just looking for a bailout. The biggest effect it has was awaking people to the fact that the USA was not invicible and sending a signal to other terrorist groups saying, look see what we did if we can do it so can you.

What has always confused me about this is why go to all the trouble of hijacking an airplane and flying it into sky scrappers, when you could do far more damage driving up to a city resovoir and dropping in some kind of chemical weapon, or blowing up the alaska pikeline, trains etc. So do people think this is the end or the begining of large terrorist attacks on the USA? I personally think its just the start, and it will continue until the US uses other sources of energy and pulls out of the middle east.

and city reservoirs are too big to contaminate. unless you want to pee in it

You would need hundreds of dump trucks worth of chemicals. That tends to get noticed.

but he is right. less than 3000 people died.

It really didn't mean much. more than that died in traffic accidents in september.

I have a hard time imagining any situation that would cause animals of a cetain length to die out... unless maybe, if it was some how involved with packaging.
