So, following the same logic, there is nothing wrong for a country or a person to support Al Qaeda if it is in her best interest.

    • I understand the line is very thin one coutries terrorist is another countries freedom fighter but what real proof of whole villages are being wiped out, I don't condone that of coarse but real proof is needed and no genocide is acceptable at any level.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Of course. Provided that they are willing to pay the consequences of such a decision.

BTW the line between terrorism and not terrorism is very thin here.
Spoken like a true Sophist. Are they still around in Greece anyway?

          • There is ample proof. I just can't be arsed to look for it now.

Check NY Times, Le Monde etc etc

It is not a genocide but it is a small scale intimidation - massacre campain. That's one of the reasons Turkey can't enter the EU for example. (there are many more).

btw the 20 millions of kurds live inside Turkey. And yes, compared to Iraqi kurds they are better off. But that just means they are killed with less frequency.

Sure DanS. If it is not pro-american it's got to be commie and we can't be arsed to bother.

                That goes without saying.

There are assorted non-commie anti-Americans that you need to include in the "I can't be bothered" category. Don't overgeneralize!

Now where's my bag of popcorn? I've got the evening news to watch! Who are we wrongly killing today?

I see that you're trying to follow in the footsteps of Gorgias. You have a ways to go before you reach that level though.

Actually I'd classify my self in this thread as a pure platonic. For there is not a shred of moral relativism in my reasoning.

I am assuming you are regarding ALL KURDS as terrorists or could it be some KURDS are terroritst and Turkey is hunting them down, I am sure they are not attacking all 20 million of them of which the vast majority we are trying to defend against Saddam.
3/4s of all Kurds live in Turkey. In Turkey, Kurds are legally prohibitted from speaking their language, from having names in their language, from flying the Kurdish flag, etc. Over 2,000 Kurdish villages have been destroyed by the Turks. More than 15,000 Kurds have been killed by the Turks (much more). Over one and half million Kurds have been made homeless by the Kurds. These Kurdish "terrorists," are fighting for the right to be treated like human beings and have a state of their own. Unlike the "legitimate" military of the Turks, the Kurds are not waging war against Turkish civilians. Furthermore, the Turks have launched raids against the Kurdish "state" in Northern Iraq (such as it is).

Rather schizophrenic when you consider we are defending that very "state" against the Iraqis. Apparently it's only okay for our allies to attack the Kurds. Of course, we are adamant against recognizing the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan because that would legitimaize the independence struggle of the Turskish Kurds.

BTW, officially, there are no Kurds in Turkey. Officially the Turskih government refers to them as Mountain Turks.

Earlier in this thread I made a statement as to why I hadn't said much in the thread; because I didn't know enough about the Somolia situation to make a statement without making an ass of myself. I suggest you apply that principle to yourself.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I made a statement and I still have only YOUR analysis of the situation, again show me proof, it is very easy to speculate, I can just as easily say all 15,000 deaths were terrorist in action but what proof do I have, like you, I just said it, who is really making an ass of themself, I think you.
You are truly a communist aren't you.

Hmmmm - I think I have heard that somewhere before....

                            Where could it have been.....?

Lets see. It must have been someone saying they had proof of who committed some terrorist attacks but were unwilling (unable?) to show the evidence, so they acted on it anyway.....

I can't remember - it must have been some commie making an ass of himself...
