That's like saying Texans have the same accents as New Yorkers. The accent that's on TV is the Ontario accent, Alberta/BC have the same accent as the mid-western US.

And Wiglaf is right about Canada and the TV Crews. Everything the Canadian military does is just for. Canada sends 3 troops into Somalia or something just so it can say "horray for Canada, we're peacekeepers!".

Canada will go into Afghanistan (after the US and Britain do all the work, and Wiglaf, the UK did help alot), and then probably claim they did more than the US afterwards. Priicks.
I'm not saying Canada's a formidable military force, never did. We're sending our share to do what's needed, what more can you ask for?

No its not. Please...even the accent of people who talk on TV isn't that different than the midwest. In fact, they're pretty much the same. And no one talks like they do on TV anyways. Jesus.

I can tell when someone is from Eastern, Central, or Western Canada. There are variations in the accents. I've lived here much longer than you have.

The point is, Alberta is far closer to America in just about every way than it is to Canada.

Look at that, and tell me something isn't wrong. Father of two children, devoted soldier fighting for something his country had to do alone. We were promised aid, but it only came in the financial and political forms. I'd go so far now to declare Britain, Germany, France, Australia, and Canada rouge and rogue nations at this point that are much more concerned about their own selves and well-being than America's current and dangerous situation.

Really, if Britain hadn't fired off those ten cruise missiles with our initial wave, and they got hit by a terrorist strike just days later (which at the time was highly likely), it'd look awful in the public eye to suddenly join the fight and claim to be sticking up for us at the same time. Their early "assistance" was for show - they were scared for themselves alone. And now an innocent man is dead for it. For Blair's politics...for his own courage.

I'm not attacking british people personally or anything, but you have to admit: someone screwed up, and it's your government. The government you essentially elected.

"We are so proud that he had grown into such a wonderful son, who was a proud father, loving husband, and devoted to serving his country," said a statement from Chapman's parents. "He loved the Army and referred to his unit as his second family. He loved what he was doing, and he was willing to do whatever he had to do," his father said. "He was a wonderful son, and we're going to miss him."

Let me know when a British troop dies that sort of horrible death. It'll never happen. But NONE of you will ever realize that. Makes me sick, to see these good people die for the world and get no appreciation or respect out of the international community for it. I wouldn't be so upset if some of you brits would at least come to realize just who's risking themselves for your well being - us, the Americans. Doing the dirty work.
You are no better than MarkL and his ignorant rants. Stop using the death of someone as a chance to troll. If you are so patriotic then get out there and join them.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

                    Hey Wiggy, here's a reason:

Its not their war. Its our war. They're doing their stuff in Europe...where they've arrested (I believe last count was) 250 conspiritors.

We don't NEED them to win in Afghanistan. The soldier who died was in a group that was AMBUSHED, meaning not on "the front lines" wherever those may be.

                      Wiglaf.

                      Read a newspaper.

A British SAS squaddie was critically injured before Christmas whilst storming a Taliban strongpoint. He survived. Others in his unit escaped serious injury due to their body armour.

While the SAS are being used predominantly for covert reconnaissance (at the request of the US military- it's what they do best), they are also actively deployed.

                        Wiglaf is a dumbass

Wig - there's something interesting in the statement We're out there dying instead of your guys. I think it's got something to do with the fact that you talk like you're personally in Afghanistan risking your life for God, the flag and the pursuit of happiness

I know it's tempting to reply to such an obvious troll, but we could always try ignoring him completely...maybe he'd go away?

Okay, I don't want to lose track of the two major points here:

                                1) Wiglaf's laughable
                                2) Most Americans are truly grateful for the assistance of our allies, especially those in the British Commonwealth.

But that being said, no one has mentioned the most interesting fact about this casualty: he's the first American soldier to be killed by the enemy! All the other fatalities have been the result of friendly fire. So when you say, "we're dying out there," you really mean "we're killing ourselves out there." It's not clear why we should want anyone to join us in that.
