Yeah, but if I acted as I if knew that, then I wouldn't have any chance of calling him an assh*le, would I?

I think we've caught some fish in this thread.

That's really classic. Satire in the tradition of Swifte. I must admit that I thought he was serious all the way until I saw the part about AMD processors. Foolish and uninformed, but serious.

So by expanding my mind by playing strategy games and speaking to people who I'm actually willing to concede are smarter than me I'm actually decreasing the effectivness of my brain?

            I don't follow.

Took a while to get to the funny bits, if I had to criticise.

Whats wrong with being unjaded and pure? I have infinite faith in the stupidity of my fellow man.

If we had all called fake what would we have looked like if it was serious?

There are people like that out there.

If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him.
ROFLMAO! Hot damn that's good stuff. Best part was probably the Quake bit.

                    Anyhoo, some damage control...

                    Seneca: lay off Newsmax.
Kass: I know it's hard to tell apart from the usual Tom's HW bull**** asher thread, but you've got to focus.
                    Burns: dude...

"Your son will probably try to install some hacker software. He may attempt to conceal the presence of the software in some way, but you can usually find any new programs by reading through the programs listed under "Install/Remove Programs" in your control panel. Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash"."

Hmmm - AMD is 'third-world' based. Weeeelll... he does have a point there - I mean, have you ever been to Dresden? The place is a tip!

one of my favorites is the claim a) that telnet is solely for hacking and b) that you don't need a phone line to do it...

                              and quake? haha...idiot
