      employers should have the right to fire anyone they want to, just as they have the right to hire anyone they want to.

      if they dont wanna have gays/smokers/flamers/liberals/commies, then thats their perogative. thats not discrimination, thats freedom of associated. find another job, its not your right to work at a particular company.

          Not only can I call smokers stupid for smoking, but apparently I can also call them stupid for using a false analogy a dozen times in a row without effect, but never learning.

                Last time i looked around there was a bunch of people that just lived around each other in peace and harmony. If you want to all us hicks that is your deal. BEsides what is you definition of hick?

                  What kind of moron wouldn't think it's discrimination to fire people who smoke?

                  1) Private company
                  2) HEALTH-CARE company
                  3) At-will employment state
                  4) 2 years notice and help to quit smoking
                  5) Your ass is FIRED.

                  The argument I'm making is such discrimination is fine in this case, for the above reasons (and smoking is one of the stupidest things anyone can do).

                  I'll call people an idiot if they shoot themselves in the foot, and they're also an idiot if they put tar in their lungs.

                  If you don't want to be called an idiot, I'd suggest stop doing stupid things. Asking people to stop reminding you of how stupid you are is just...stupid.

                                Ill have to remember the next time the gay crowd whines about people posting insults that's it's OK, because the religious crowd believes gays are all idiots, and that they are doing gays a favor by insulting them...
