Many people post in the Off-topic forum that they are leaving Apolyton and never coming back.
The usual response is something like "yeah, right, see you in a week....and don't forgot to post your orders in the other games/forum thread"
In most cases, the poster comes back, like a moth to a flame to Apolyton - it's unavoidable.
So, in thinking back over my time in Poly, I recall an eighteen month stretch where I did not post or visit Apolyton. It was back in 2001 when RL overwhelmed my time availability. Its a terrible, inexcusable set of reasons....something along the lines of looking for, and buying a new house; getting a promotion at work; raising my offspring; getting bored with Civ3 vanilla..blah blah blah. yes, the reasons suck.
Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm leaving Apolyton in early 2001 and I'm not coming back until 2002. Since I missed my opportunity in 2001 to post my goodbye thread, I'm doing it now.
Don't try to talk me out of it. My decision is final.
