Boo to you, sir...boo to you.

The worst to listen to (especially after a break-up) is "Uninvited" by Alanis Morrisette.

    I like that song.

Dashboard Confessional (understandably) has a ton of pretty emotional songs.

The Brilliant Dance, after a breakup...
    So this is odd,
the painful realization that all has gone wrong.
    And nobody cares at all,
    and nobody cares at all.

So you buried all your lover's clothes
and burned the letters lover wrote,
but it doesn't make it any better.
Does it make it any better?

And the plaster dented from your fist
in the hall where you had your first kiss
reminds you that the memories will fade.

    So this is strange,
our sidestepping has come to be a brilliant dance
    where nobody leads at all,
    where nobody leads at all.

And the picture frames are facing down
and the ringing from this empty sound
is deafening and keeping you from sleep.
And breathing is a foreign task
and thinking's just too much to ask
and you're measuring your minutes by a clock that's blinking eights.

    This is incredible.
    Starving, insatiable,
yes, this is love for the first time.

Well you'd like to think that you were invincible.
Yeah, well weren't we all once before we felt loss for the first time?
Well this is the last time.
    This is the last time.
    This is the last time.

Don't assume I don't know that. And I had my first Public Enemy tape in 1992, not knowing crap what they were talking in it.

The point is, your generation is bashing rap now. And making it a thing of our generation. That's why I said it lke I said it.

I have no problem admitting that 80's music was 97% crap.

And perhaps I'm a bit out of the "cool" scene, but I'm unaware of a large generational gap between Gen Xers and Yers (terms that actually mean nothing to you two, given as they are Americanisms, dealing with American demographic history... but I go with what I know) in regards to Rap music. The Boomers, yes (remember Clinton and his "fight" against Gangsta rap?), but for the generation that popularized it? C'mon, get real!

Take Me to the River - Talking Heads:

I don't know why I love her like I do
All the changes you put me through
                  Take my money, my cigarettes
I haven't seen the worst of it yet
I wanna know that you'll tell me
                  I love to stay
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me to the river, dip me in the water
Washing me down, washing me down

I don't know why you treat me so bad
Think of all the things we could have had
Love is an ocean that I can't forget
My sweet sixteen I would never regret

I wanna know that you'll tell me
                  I love to stay
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Push me in the river, dip me in the water
                  Washing me down, washing me

Hug me, squeeze me, love me, tease me
                  Till I can't, till I can't, till I can't take no more of it
Take me to the water, drop me in the river
Push me in the water, drop me in the river
Washing me down, washing me down

I don't know why I love you like I do
All the troubles you put me through
Sixteen candles there on my wall
And here am I the biggest fool of them all

I wanna know that you'll tell me
                  I love to stay
Take me to the river and drop me in the water

The Duke has a larger **** than Ron Jeremy and they invented Viagra by studying him! The only reason he had 7 kids because the world wasn't good enough for 8 kids of John Wayne's. The man's man shrugs off the attack from the wussy Canadian to the north... even from his grave.
