  • What religion/non-religion are you a member of and Why?

I am an athiest because a higher power is not needed to explain the universe.

I'm not a tribal person. I think that's why I'm not religious. I think religious people really like to be part of a group. I know that there are some that don't even go to church though.

I'm somewhere between a deist and a theist... just in case as I have been known to be wrong a time or two.

I'm a member of no religion nor of any non-religion. I consider supranatural beliefs as irrelevant in whatever I am doing in this real world.

(well, supranatural beliefs are relevant when trying to understand human behaviour, because the fact that people believe is a reality. The content of the bliefs is not)

I was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church from my baptization in 1997, but I eventually signed out a few years later, partly because my spirituality is a personal thing and partly because I think there's something horribly wrong about not seperating state and church.

Oh, and I didn't want to pay 1% of my income in church taxes.

I'm an agnostic. I don't think that we can prove that there is no higher power, but I've never found a religion that has appealed to me. If there is a god, then I imagine him in a Deist construction, an entity that created/began everything but doesn't get involved in daily life. I'm not willing to say there is no god. I have no proof of that. I think it takes just as much "faith" to be an athiest as it does to be devoted to some religion.

I was raised Christian, and the rest of my family is Christian. I simply don't believe the basic premises of the religion. To me you're either religious or you're not. It is not a matter of intelligence; I know some brilliant Christians, and I know many idiot athiests. I think it comes down to a personal "gut " feeling. It makes sense to you or it doesn't. People then build their outlook from that initial gut feeling. I'm just not a spiritual person, and I am almost completely certain that I'll never become religious.

I'm an agnostic, leaning towards atheist. I don't believe in any religion. I think most religion is dangerous. It's dangerous to put blinders on and have faith in superstitions and myth. The story Jesus Christ is no different than Zeus and the Greek gods... myth and legend.

People tend to mold "God" after themselves. God didn't create man in his own image, man created God in his own image. And I'm not really any different. If there is a God, I believe him to be fair and just and hold the same values as myself. After all, it is only human to believe God holds the same values as yourself.

What do I believe? I don't know what to believe. But I know what NOT to believe... Jesus, Allah, Yahweh, Zeus, Poseidon, Thor, Ra, etc...

No human being knows what happens when we die. That's why all religion claiming to have truth is wrong. And likewise, anyone who tells you they know the truth is either lying or dillusional.

Being an agnostic is the only prudent thing to be. Any other beliefs border on insanity and dillusion. And for some people, that's okay.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Verto, do you get ticked when people call Tass a Mormon just to piss him off?

I get ticked at the fact the commie filth dares to stain Zion with his presence.

But the pleasure it brings to many outweighs your annoyance.
