Nah - the Union of India has too stable a democratic structure ever to fall in the forseeable future .
China - they are too steady for this to happen .
I predict that a civil war is more likely in America (just imagine - a result of the election similar to the previous one , and civil war breaks out over the Presidency
) .
On a more serious note , I'd recommend people read the book Being Indian if they want an insight into why India is unshakeably stable as it is . The Great Indian Midlle Class ( by the same author ) is also recommended .Comment

Indian power will grow as it's economic strength improves - when you adjust for the discrepancies in the statistics India's economy is probably growing as fast as china's (6% a year), it's share of US GDP is already 29% putting it close to Japan's 34%.
By 2030 India will likely be in the same economic position, vis-a-vis the USA, as China is today (i.e. with 60% of the US's GDP, although by then China's economy is likely to be the same size as America's)
