Personal opinion but perhaps you can explain to me what exactly that has to do with the serious breaches of journalistic integrity going on at CBS News being a non-issue unworthy of discussion?

    • I'm sure they wouldn't consider it a non-issue if the target was the other candidate. Not that Rather would ever do that.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Actually, no matter who the candidate is, its a non-issue. Ask Oggie on my consistency on the matter.

        As for the "serious breach"

This was yet another non-story-that CBS screwed on a non-story trying to get the "big scoop" is not of much note or significance.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds.

Hand waving and trying to shout people down may work well on the O'Reily Factor but it really doesn't translate well to an internet forum. A clear answer to why you feel a national new program going to air with a story before even the most basic fact checking is unworthy of discussion would carry more weight.

It might, but I don't view the commercial news channels as holding much legitimacy at all- the scandal is that CBS should have apologized early-they were stubborn-otherwise, this was a minimal 'crime'.

              I'll vouch.

He's been as consistant as his god DeKerry. Truth be told his nuancing requires a complete understanding of both French and English languages.

See GePap, you can always count on me to have your back.

Matter of fact for a small fee I'm sure I can get some shmuck down here in the south to forge err... dig up some old posts proving your consistancy.

              • the media and politicians

They are locked in a dance with each other. Both know this, and combine/reject each other according to each of their wishes.
View them as evil power-mongers, and don't beleive anything they say. This is just the start.

                • an example

here in 'cool britannia', our great leader has just announced his future intentions. No words in the media of possible lies.
Astounding, incredible! The media goes along with this, as if father christmas exists.

                  • by the way, telly is the media

....and newspapers are nothing. Of course, socialists deny this. Another start! Socialists are the prime power mongers. Destroy socialist 'thought', and we get some progress. Difficult it is, like a cancer everywhere.

                        • I wonder if there will be any more "Swiftboats" or "Rathergates" before the election. It would be strange to focus on the candidates and issues for a time, rather than scandal and sensationalism.

That's "breach", singular, and while it is a concern for CBS, overall this is a minor issue, however CBS better find out what caused the breach or they might get a major issue on their hands.

Why is it minor? Because the issue it was about is very minor (not the breach is probably more important than the issue). What happened 30 years ago is not a big issue in this election, nor should it be. If it makes you feel any better though, the overall story regarding Bush was probably true, even if the documents weren't. If anything, that makes the breach a bit less of an issue.

So you have something that is a bit less than a minor issue...and what page of discussion are we on about it?

Why don't we talk about real issues like Iraq, the economy, jobs, terrorrism, the debt, health care, or any of the dozen others? This isn't worth the time that has been devoted to it.

                              • I heard the other day that CBS will delay the report on what happened until after the election so that it won't affect the election. We all KNOW what that means, do we not?
