      Ned, the People's Advocate!

May Lenin Himself aid you in your effort to strike down unwatchable high-brow crap spewed by the borguoisie. All programming should be made for 3 year olds if it is to be run in these glorious Soviet States of America. May the counterrevolutionary "intellectuals" rot in hell for their crimes of thought.

When our other terrestrial channels start producing television programmes of a consistantly higher quality than the BBC does, then you may have a point. When you stick two advert breaks in one episode of the Simpsons then no matter how good the show is, the enjoyment is still far reduced.

Either you've never actually seen any BBC programming or you're a total moron. BBC programming is just as low-brow as everything else. It's endless reality documentaries, game shows, soap operas, celebrity chefs and makeover shows with a tiny bit of news and mediocre comedy thrown in.
Plus the BBC Natural History unit. Which is, let's face it, the best in the world by a large margin.

If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

Ned, like most Americans including myself, probably gets most of his BBC content filtered through PBS, which is a publicly-funded education-and-culture network.

They generally pick out really "high-brow" stuff, and after several decades of that, the perception of the BBC as high-brow has stuck.

Besides, they all speak with those smarmy Brit accents.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Actually, after reading more about it, I think they still produce shows for Animal Planet. I never knew about that.

The BBC reporting will seem biased against Israel only if you have the point of view that the Israeli actions in Palestine are acceptable. Which they clearly aren't.

And anyone that says that the BBC in any way condones the terrorism from Hamas or othe Palestinian terror organisations has no idea what they are talking about. It just doesn't happen. They report the attacks as terrible tragedies.

If you want the BBC to say "heroic Israelis/Americans/British troops kill more rag-head children..." well, you are out of luck. Watch Fox News instead.
