Dan Rather showed a National Guard record released by the White House that also had a purported superscript "th". I don't have a copy of that record, so I'm only going from memory. But it appeared to me that the "th" that appeared on that record was considerably different from the superscript "th" that appears the allegedly forged CBS documents. Rather it appeared to me that the "th" was a lowercase "t" and lowercase "h" half-spaced up, which was a conventional way of using IBM's Selectrics to write "superscript."
Anyone can provide a link to the record that Rather showed on CBS Evening News, we can make a direct comparison.
Also Dan Rather did not mention the use of "smart quotes" in several of the memoranda. The result of this, barring something like Bush caught being Osama's gay lover, is the election is decided. Ordinary attrition or a sudden shaping up in the kerry camp, or even a series of medium flub the the Bush camp will no sufice to swing this back. Without something spectacular, the Kerry campagin will no recover even from the current level of suspicion.
