You're Right, and it's funny that someone on the Right isn't in the right and resorts to equating someone who is moderate but in the right with someone who was far more Right than most people are today.

I'm just saying that the way the idiom was used in the sentence didn't fit with the meaning of the idiom.

Dude, seriously. I wouldn't have said anything if you had written it correctly. Q provided like 8 links that support this. Screaming that you are correct doesn't make it so.

Regardless, I've had a wonderful laugh over this. I had no idea it would turn into such a great threadjack. I gotta go for now. Later guys

Speak english please. I'm saying you are wrong. Dead wrong when it comes to english.

Q's links are not relevant because they say nothing of the way I used it.

that is English, and I was having fun with "when I'm right" bit. I also fixed the capitalization.

when Right is used, it's referring to the political leaning. you're a Rightist. Fascism is also Rightist. I'm not saying you are Fascist at all, just to make that clear. when someone is "on the Right", they are rightist.

when someone is "in the right", they are correct. someone who is not correct is "in the wrong".

Q's links are not relevant because they say nothing of the way I used it.

How are they not relevant? They showcase the exact way you use the idiom.

I'm in the right but not on the Right, and don't take that with a grain of salt.

You're stalinist. I'm talking about right or wrong. Get your english right or don't talk to me anymore. You are just being a nescient kid. It IS NOT REFERRING TO A POLITICAL LEANING! GET THAT F--KING RIGHT.

And your links are not relevant because the way I used it was proper.

good god, I was having a bit of fun there. i know you weren't referring to a political leaning, fez. that does not suddenly make it wrong to have a little play on words and use the multiple meanings of the word "right" in a spot of fun, right?

and how does that make me stalinist? i'll take that insult with a grain of salt, because most people here realize i'm no fan of nkorea, one of the last stalinist states in the world, and indeed am a moderate libertarian, which is a far cry from being stalinist. your words wound me deeply, and don't take that with a grain of salt.

i do have my english correct. i speak it very well, as i should, since it is my native tongue. indeed, i speak it better than my mother's native tongue, and better than any language that i've picked up through school. being raised a rice cracker makes me somewhat used to figures of speech, and i'm a-fixin' to help my mother learn those idioms in her adoptive tongue.

i do like how you threw in that SAT word, although i take it with a grain of salt, seeing as i'm rather educated and i'm not a goat of any sort.

that said, i do like the billy goat tavern, and don't take that with a grain of salt.

Look I'm not going to continue talking to somebody who is quick to criticize but can't even speak english properly. You are rather an ignorant one.

Well "I" is supposed to be capitalized, and so is every first letter of each sentence you make.

You're Right, and it's funny that someone on the right isn't in the right and resorts to equating someone who is moderate but in the right with someone who was far more Right than most people are today.
And what the hell was this? A glaring example of poor english, run on sentences and ignorance.
