Oh goody. Virgins to rape and pillage.

*making a mental note to deny ever saying the above when we lose*

Strange situation. Something to do with the timing of when this fixture was finalised.
I think the Test in question was added after the rest of the internationals had been organised. I didn't know there was a window of organisational opportunity, as such. Anyway, that's the reason the English clubs are giving. As if they needed a reason. I gather the extra Test is an attempt on Scotland's part to make some sort of dent in their fiscal black hole, if you'll pardon the, frankly, illogical mixed metaphor.

Incidentally it is nice to see yourself and Horse discussing summer plans on a morning where we have be warned to expect out worst winter in 100 years.
Jeez, it was 39C today here in Sydney. Out of the blue. Absolute scorcher. Back down to mid-20s tomorrow. We've had level 2 water restrictions all the way through winter, so goodness knows how we'll get through the summer. The dams in the Sydney water catchment areas are down to 42% capacity.

Since it climbed to the premiership, the CSBJ never came back to the second division. But Bourgoin's team is what you would call a perpetual unachiever, always close to the top but ever failing to win a major title. A bit like the Association Sportive Montferrandaise which never won the Bouclier de Brennus though the team reached the final many times.
Just to let you know that I made my first Duck Confit about a month ago. Stored it in the fridge in its duck fat, and we had it the other night. Not bad for a first attempt. Nicely moist, perhaps a touch too salty. I'm making it again soon in order to mince the Duck Confit in order to make rillettes.

                    • I would have thought enjoyment of good Ale defined the expression?

I'm trying to work out if I should be upset at being denied rillettes?

Do rillettes come fried in golden batter with a side order of chips?

It is only a part of it...

There is no need to ask, you should be as we are talking about a delicacy.

No, but they might as well be for the massive damage they do to your cholesterol levels.

I too will probabbly deny ever saying this, should it come up in the future out of context, but I agree with Havak.
Anything that comes fried in golden batter with chips ...

Back to this threads (supposed) raison d'etre for a mo

Who exactly is this ever-so-unlucky Frenchman? Garbagosa? His name doesn't ring a bell but I guess that's hardly surprising given his last couple of years ..

                                HERETICS!

Xavier Garbajosa was a talented French international center, several times French Champion with the Stade Toulousain, before he underwent a heavy operation because of recurring problems with his right knee. He worked hard for a year to come back and was about to recover his best level until he strained his left knee saturday against the Club Sportif de Bourgoin-Jailleu. He is indeed very unlucky as he is out for eight weeks... at the very least!
