I think Melbourne is the better long-term bet with its bigger population and quite healthy (relatively speaking) local rugby resources, but I suspect the geography will sway the day.

Havak's hiked-up membership fees and spiralling season ticket purchase price at work:

      Tigers get new cash lift

Leicester Tigers have announced their fifth set of record financial results in a row, report BBC Radio Leicester.

Despite a poor season on the field, profits doubled to £783,000 while turnover grew to a record £11.3m.

They probably sold one of Jonno's old boots to some elderly woman who now uses it as a house.

And Havak's absence can be attributed to him standing on a Leicester street corner, cap in hand, begging for a deposit on his next season ticket.

            Silly bloody Taffys!

            Woodward to help Wales

Lions and ex-England coach Sir Clive Woodward is set to help Wales' preparations to face New Zealand.

He is ready to spend a week in the Wales camp in the build-up to the All Blacks game in Cardiff on 20 November.

"There is every chance Clive will join us, he is an inspiration to northern hemisphere coaches," Wales coach Mike Ruddock told the South Wales Echo.

The move would help Woodward's preparations for facing New Zealand with the Lions next summer.

Havak’s absence can be attributed to nothing more sinister than work pressure.

On which note I am pleased to say I am not in after today until Tuesday. By which time Wasps will have lost again.

I would hope that I might get chance to read back through the thread and address any scandalous inaccuracies before the day is over.

Save time, you only need to read Finbar's posts.

I thought that might be the case.

And that would make you Andre Previn - or Angela Rippon?

There are some obscure references a non native English speaker can not understant I suppose.

The former has credentials - and had credibility, until he married that bint Mia Farrow. And speaking of bints, I can only assume Angela Rippon is one. I know nothing about her beyond the name.

On an unrelated matter, I notice that Brumbies' half-back and Gregan understudy Matt Henjak is going to 'Quins on a short-term contract until mid-December. He leaves after his Canberra club's finals commitments here. I would imagine it's all subject to whether he's picked for the NH tour. I'd be surprised if he weren't. The time has come, I think, for Henjak to take Chris Whitaker's place on the Wallaby bench.

Havak's away with his feet up sipping Absinthe until tomorrow, so it falls to me to inform interested parties that Leicester had a win - 39-22 against the oddly-named London Irish. Still, a win is a win.

I also suspect that Toulouse might have had a win. At least I think it said so in my newspaper this morning. The layout of the scores made it almost impossible to work out who beat whom. Interestingly, they printed the French results, but ignored the English results. Now listen Tamerlin. Remember you gave me a link to a site that carried the grenouille results? I lost the link. Be a good chap and post it again?

                                Oh beaut. J**** more aggressive.
He set new standards on Sunday when he got himself sin binned after six minutes for killing ball. It was apparently a most impressive swan dive onto the ball.

Martin Corry seems to be favourite for Dally’s England shirt after taking just 26 seconds to score Tigers first try.

It is going to be an interesting year – we are scoring freely but at the same time conceding freely too.

Could not expect you to get that one really.

And speaking of bints, I can only assume Angela Rippon is one. I know nothing about her beyond the name.
BBC News anchor of the 70s. Also known for displaying legs on the M&W show and later presenting Come dancing. Like Previn she was one of many victims of Eric Morecambe’s machine gun wit.

I saw Henjak had signed for Quins and assumed it was a way of getting in place ready for the tour. Strange decision by Quins.

Oh yes – Matt Dawson has been canned by England after failing to turn up for training because of business commitments. Difficult to see him getting back in now.
