Excellent game. Congrats to the Finns on being the first team to score more than 1 goal on Brodeur in this World Cup. A number of notable things
- This was the first time any team went undefeated to win a Canada Cup/ World Cup
- This was Finlands highest finish ever in one of these events
- The game was exciting and Finland played great gutsy hockey. After a while though you could see that the bigger Canadianswere winning more and more battles on the boards. Overall I thought Canada deserved the victory . . .

And now I announce my go-forward Flubber Power rankings-- This is based on my own subjective feelings as to the respective strengths of the hockey nations if another World Cup event were to be held anytime in the next two years
1. Canada-- this should be obvious
2. Finland-- seems obvious to pick the other finalist but I do think if the tournament were played over they could take second
3 Czech-- I was tempted to place them second based simply on their performance in the semis but the reality was they were inconsistent and their goaltending is a notch below the top two.
4 Russia-- still a great deal of talent there
5. US -- old and getting older with not enough heir apparents .. .
6. Sweden- they got totally rolled in the big game. They seem to play well in stretches but then get killed when it matters. Goaltending is an issue.
7. Slovakia-- pretty easy pick
8. Germany- always a half step behind the top 7. They could conceivably win a game but would have no chance of winning a tourneyYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

That is just one brutally ugly trophy. Why can't they just use some sort of classic looking silver one?"The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned

Brodeur has allowed three goals in four games for a 0.75 GAA, .970 save percentage and a shutout.

Just like Lecavalier, I was pretty surprised Brodeur wasn't named MVP."The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned

Ah, Brodeur always gets overlooked. It's just recently that he's been winning Vezina's in the NHL... and now there proabably won't be an NHL... great.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
