Toni Braxton: children called Diezel and Denim. (Perhaps future sprogs will be called Gap and Doctor Marten’s Industrial Workwear)

Elle Macpherson: son called Aurelius. (Why not go the whole hog and call him Caligula?)

Christie Brinkley: daughter called Sailor (can you imagine people saying "Hello Sailor" to you EVERY SINGLE DAY for the REST OF YOUR LIFE?)

Alex Kingston: daughter called Salome. (Quite a lot to live up to, there).

Sean Penn: son called Hopper. (If nominative determinism is true, Sean should be booking Hopper a place at the Betty Ford clinic right now).

Elizabeth Isabella? Aren't they the same name? One is just the spanish version.
That's not a fact, just a theory (it may also come from an ancient Semitic name meaning 'daughter of Baal'), but even if... When you meet someone named Elizabeth or Isabella, how many people are like: "Ah yes, from Elisabet, the Greek form of the Hebrew name Elisheba meaning 'God is my oath'. In the New Testament this is the name of the mother of John the Baptist."

If I meet someone named Elizabeth, I might get brief mental images of Elizabeth I and II and Elizabeth Taylor, maybe even of the ship HMS Queen Elizabeth II. When I meet someone named Isabella, I think of Isabella I of Spain, Isabella of France and Isabella Rossellini. How many people are even aware of the ethymology of either name, or any other name for that matter? Ethymology is the very last thing I'd consider when naming my children...

@AS: No white men called Marcus? I've known dozens (many of whom spelt it "Markus", however) ...

I need to think about this. Apparently she wants 10 of them.

Markus is Finnish name.. I mean there are people claiming it.. Germans, and many others, but we all know it's our name and that's it. Others think they're special like that but they aren't.

I'd like to name a girl Aava, but I think she'd get teased in school for having such a rare name.

That's a real posh english name. I'm sure there's alot of old rich white lords that you share your name with.
