Now I certainly didn't expect THIS threadjack .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I did. Once it attracted a commie who felt like making an issue of his views even when they weren't relevent, it was inevitable.

What is it with the labelling of "commie"? Can't people use the proper, full name?

I mean, we don't have words like "cappie" and "free markie"....
Arise ye starvelings from your slumbers; arise ye prisoners of want
The reason for revolt now thunders; and at last ends the age of "can't"
Away with all your superstitions -servile masses, arise, arise!
We'll change forthwith the old conditions And spurn the dust to win the prize

Commie is easier to type. Plus, we couldn't say commienazi otherwise

Real answer: we're Americans. We use "commie" and yes, we're being mildly derogatory. Shame on us!

                        commies

On the subject of commies, I'm currently debating with a nutjob of a Libertarian on CFC, who's currently doing interesting mental acrobatics in an attempt to avoid conceding that Marx was right when he said that in a capitalistic society, workers do not own the objects they manufacture.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

It's no good (from an evolutionary point of view) to have the physique of Tarzan if you have the sex drive of a philosopher. -- Michael Ruse
The Nedaverse I can accept, but not the Berzaverse. There can only be so many alternate realities. -- Elok

Actually the main robot character saves humanity. The menace isn't a robot at all.

I don't think I Robot should win many awards next year but for summer action flick it was pretty good and there was even times when it made you think a little. But thankfully it didn't attempt that too much.

I have never read Asimov's short stories on the creation of robotics, only the three stories about Daneel and Bailey and then the stories abou the foudning of the empire and then foundation series and beyond.

The Zeroth law only enters the storyline after the death of Bailey- once the settler worlds begin to be set up by earth is opposition to the spacer worlds. The things is, part of the zeroth law was to remove robots from humanity due to the peversions of the spacer worlds, specially on Inferno.

Hmm. The trailers just SCREAMED "typical shoot 'em up - evil robots by the hundreds will be blasted by heroic gunslinger Smith" but if the movie isn't that bad, then good. Maybe I will enjoy it when I see it on HBO.
