    • I suppose you couldn't believe Barlow was there at #5, could you?

In the 40+ mock drafts I participated in, Toomer went in 7-9

        • Sit tight, guys... this one is gonna take a while. This one pretty much determines how the rest of this draft unfolds, so I need a few hours at least to think things over and maybe get some advice.

No, just too many damn options. There's four players at four different positions I could take right now and have a legitimate reason for doing so.

Though it may not take me as long as I thought to decide. I may have a pick within the hour.

                      • Four positions???

Let's see... Needs QB, TE, and Defense. Gets the pick of leftovers at QB, but there's some quality there. Can have the #2 TE or the top projected Defense. Certainly couldn't be considering Vanderjagt -- I give reis much more credit than that. So the 4th must be a reserve that he values over the missing starters...?

Hmmm.... We wait with bated breath...

                        • Well, I've decided my need for a quality QB wins out. I think this guy could've possibly made it back to me next round, but I don't want to take that chance.

                          Tom Brady, QB (NE)

The other three players I was considering were Heap, Garner (as a Bucs fan, it's extremely painful for me to pass on him) and Darrell Jackson, who I can't believe is STILL on the board when I had him rated higher than Boldin. (I wasn't drafting him as a second starter for bye week reasons, but I'd gladly take him as a reserve. Not gonna get that chance now, though.)

I also considered Bulger and Pennington at QB, but Bulger's INTs, Pennington's injury history and both guys' OL issues scared me off.

Thanks for sharing your thought process, reismark. It's starting to get very interesting. (And I think one or two of your wishlist guys might actually sneak back through to you.) Don't know that Brady would've, though...

                              I didn't

Actually, they were about even in my book. Mostly because I have high hopes for Boldin, still being young as he is. I would of taken Darrell Jackson, but I don't want too many players on one team (I gots Hasselbeck), and I think Toomer will give me consistant enough play to make me happy.

                              Good pick by the way
