Imaginary numbers are complex numbers (but real numbers are complex numbers as well).

I'm pro-USA-citizens, but anti-USA-(actually Bush)-administration. So I gave thus:
- The citizens being 10
- The administration being -6
- The average being 2
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.
It's not the latitude, but the climate. Alaska is buffered by its proximity to the Pacific. It has nowhere near the conditions seen by some regions of Greenland or the Northwest Territories.

Perhaps, but I think the Brooks Range can reach near the same temperatures as what you are talking about. Also, while the southern parts of Alaska are difficult to differentiate from most climates, Alaska spans farther than most countries along the north-south axis.

You may give certain areas a higher score than others, but this is for your overall view of the US. When someone mentions America, what is your immediate reaction?
Based on this, my immediate reaction to mention of the US is a 5. Most of the US sounds like a terrific place to be, where you can do anything, where your rights are protected, with a huge array of ethnically, socially nd linguistically diverse people who are generally friendly and welcoming. However there are (as there must be) many evils about the US as well - foreign policy in general (which is what is most obvious to me and every other person who does not live within the US itself), my personal horror at certain ultra-conservative laws and practices in a number of states, the ills of consumerism, and above all the more recent trend of forces working against civil rights for homosexuals, and with the Patriot Act (shudder) EVERYONE.
When I hear the name 'US', I think more or less neutrally until I hear what is being spoken about, and can place the mention into context. If it is 'the US President is trying to amend the Constitution to outlaw homosexual marriage', my rating is 1 (at least it's the proper channels). If it is 'the US is starting more peace talks between Israel and Palestine', I would give it an 8 or 9.
It ain't easy to rate an influence as large and important as the US.

Bingo.
I've been really hoping our government would pull its head out of the sand and realize it needs to capitalize on its current dominance while it can.
I got my hopes up that George W would go full tilt and annex Canada and Mexico permanently. Gosh knows that's been on our to do list for some time now.
But there are some very serious failings here. Don't ask me why the US seems to be one of the most anti-youth countries in the world. It gets frustrating.

I would compare the US to MOO3.
Great ideas, great graphics. Very impressive on preview and screenshots, a game you would like to buy and play.
But the implementation..., man it s****.
So please give us back the MOO2 version (US before the Vietnam War). Man, that was the America of our dreams.
Just provide us some patches for racism, macartism and a few other bugs.
MOO3 is better than US today, because at least I can un-install it...
I gave a global 6. Slightly pro, because I like their ideas and I think they'll eventually make it good.
