Frankly, this is a non issue as well... made famous partly because his wife is an actress, and "sex" is involved.

So, a guy wanting to do something consensual with his wife in a place where it is legal to do so is now "immoral." Frankly, I think Ryan's getting a raw deal, with the caveat that if he's one of those "moral values" Republicans, then he deserves is. But if he hasn't pretended to be Mr. Values before, then this is a shame.

I agree with you in principle, but not in degree. Having sex in public where you are assured that all will see you in the full (as opposed to just doing for the thrill of the possibility of someone seeing you in part) is pretty freaky deeky to me. Of course, it isn't even alleged that he actually did such a thing, only that he wanted to do such a thing.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Lots of things are freaky deeky to me, but that's none of my business. If a candidate's divorce papers were released showing he had some sort of fetish for, say, wearing women's shoes while having sex, I wouldn't see why it was the constituents' business or why it should effect his candidacy.

I agree, but when these things come out into the press, depending on how far out this stuff is in the voters' eyes, it will have an impact on his candidacy. This stuff's just too hot for Chicago, apparently.

Why should his hypocricy change the principle of the matter for you?

Well, duh, but the point I was raising that it shouldn't, barring other circumstances (such as Ryan's hypocrisy).

WTF cares? A bazillion people signed that law hypocritically (is that a word?), on both sides of the fence.
