as mentioned in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle", a classic Guy film is "the Dirty Dozen".

i mean, i cried at the end of the film, but then again, who doesn't?

Well, actually it ends with Droz & his chicky walking off to get some coffee, but that's not important right now.

          That's right. My bad.

I do believe that was the role David Spade was born to play. He was very believable in it.

Look, as a Civil War history buff, I can appreciate the coolness of knowing the order of battle for a given battle in the war, but it's NOT something that should go into the movie, ya know?

Ok, if you're only quarrel is with the marching part of the battle scenes, I might be able to agree with you -- say, like 87.53% agreeement.

"You remember this guy, he skippered Hitler's catamaran during the war."

Jeremy Piven was pretty good as Droz, too.

I think we agree on Bull Durham, just not on the definition of "Guy Movies." Apparently Poly's standards aren't as stringent as some other places in that regard.

That was my primary issue with the battle scenes. My primary issue with the movie in general is the number & length of speeches by main characters... soliloquies, really. The acting, for the most part, was awful - they were so busy trying to seem earnest, heavy-hearted, devout and brave that they forgot "believeable."

                  It was awful. :shudders:

                      I can't believe I left those out.

Does History of the World, Part I qualify? Or is that just a good movie, not a guy movie?

Excellent. Then add HotW, P1 and Spaceballs to the aforementioned Blazing Saddles.

Also Beverly Hills Cop series and the Lethal Weapon series. I do have to mention 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World' - a classic war film where the only women in the entire movie are the prostitutes off the shore .
