Define "lasts longer"

You mean the line to get in? Or the permanence of the mausolleum? Actually this isn't a mausolleum, it was his coffin draped in an American flag.

They are bringing him back to his library for final burial at the end of the week after he comes home from Washington. So he will permanently be there in among the desert hills he used to like to ride in.

Don't go changing your claims on me: there is a difference between claiming Reagan won the Cold War and him being influential. Yes, he was influential. NO, he singlehandedly did not win the cold war.

As for completely altering the political landscape..HOW? The first conservative revolution was Goldwater's work. The second was Newt Gingrich. Conservatives may idiolize the man, but what part of the conservative Agenda got passed under him? End to abortion? Nope. Liberal social causes gained and gained, his main tax cuts got put back...and he was succeeded by his moderate VP. The "Reagan Democrats" disappeared in the 90's. Newt Gingrich and his House incumbents did the work. Again, conservatives may lionize Reagan and see him as a role model, but he himself did nothing to build that movement-it was frothing before him, and it exploded after him.

Regan was a senile old man who didn’t have a clue what was going on for at least four of his eight years as president.

Regan’s role in the fall of communism in Russia and Eastern Europe is similar to that of a busty blond waving pom-poms at a sports game. It was the failure of the communist governments in the Eastern Block countries to provide even marginally good government (unlike China to date) that caused the people in those countries to demand and achieve regime change. A washed up actor, spouting lines that could have come from an old western movie in front of the Berlin Wall did not cause the fall of communism in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Ronald Regan’s legacy will be one of supporting the ruthless military regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the ruthless clerical regime of the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran in a long bloody war against each other which resulted in the death of millions of people. Ronald Regan’s legacy will be one of destabilising and subsequent invasion of Granada where a socialist regime, while coming to power in a coup, had committed fewer atrocities than Americans had against each other in the 1950’s and 60’s and achieved significant economic growth and prosperity in the four years.
