Heroic defending by Latvia so far, and Verpakovskis there to put the icing on the cake.It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - DrosedarsComment

Well, I am nonetheless proud for Latvians. They put up a much better resistance than I expected, and our keeper had moments of brilliance. The bad part was, we didn't attack nearly enough. Heck, our only real chance in the first half (and the only shot at target) was a goal. Then, the second attack with a short on target was dangerous. 2-3 more such attacks, and we would've won. Czechs were excellent at keeping the pressure on our goal, and therefore the defenders couldn't help but play pure defensively. Which makes conceding just a logical thing.
It was a good game. Czechs will have to admit that it was tough for them, Latvia looked well, and could have done even better with more attacks.Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Latvia lost the match when they substituted one of their strikers for an extra defender, that killed off all their offensive impulses and freed up more Czechs for their own offensive. Classic mistake
